New character

Howdy, all!

Just thought I'd drop everyone a note to let them know that I've picked up Col Saul Tigh from the ever-so-messed-up relaunch of Battlestar: Galactica.

Saul here was the XO (second-in-command, the eXecutive Officer) of the spaceborne aircraft carrier/battleship known as the Battlestar Galactica. He's a 40-year veteran of the Colonial military, served in two wars (against the same foe in different forms - the robotic entities called Cylons), and is currently one of about 50K surviving humans in his little cluster of space.

They've been on a mad wild goose chase through the cosmos for a long time now, looking for this place known only in prophecy and in the scrolls of their polytheistic faith.

That place? It's called Earth.

Saul's a human who's never seen Earth, never been there, and knows nothing about it. Colonial tech is fairly advanced - mass drivers, FTL travel, robotics, that sort of thing. No beam or directed-energy weapons, though.

As this is Just Before S4 Saul Tigh, he's recently had it revealed that he is himself not actually human at all, but a form of Cylon known as the Final Five. He is basically an organic machine and in deep, deep, DEEP denial about it.

Oh, and did I mention he's a relatively recent widower (by his own hands...) and is suffering from a raging case of PTSD and alcoholism? And he's in his seventies? And he had his eye ripped out by a Brother Cavil model of Cylon while sitting in a Gitmo/Abu Ghirab-style detention center?

Fun times.

As for me, I'm Redhawk. Played here, there, and everywhere, mostly in comics fandoms. Been tabletopping and the like for roughly a quarter-century at this point.
