you are so sick of rogue squadron by now, I know it

I have a question for the crew at large. I know there's been talk about how it's great that the Rogues give characters who are pilots etc CR/something to do, but that something like that is needed for non-piloting characters. I know people already have several ideas such as re-vamping the science department, however, I'd like to offer another proposal of my own.

Technically, the Rogues require a pretty large ground/hanger crew to keep them in the air- of not just mechanics, but people to fuel the X-Wings, keep track of/take care of the gear, make sure all the fighters are stocked with supplies etc. We've basically been completely ignoring/handwaving this aspect of the squadron. However, it would provide a way for characters with no piloting or mechanical skills/no desire to be in the actual space fights to A. have an official job B. build some CR and C. ICly feel like they're doing something important to contribute to the fight against the Ohm. We wouldn't actually thread out the hanger crew re-fueling the X-wings all the time, that would be boring. So if we actually had an official hanger crew most of their threading would probably be first be a bit of training, but then mostly hanging out in the Rogue's lounge taking breaks during/after work, or helping to get the X-Wings ready to fly if/when another space battle takes place.

So, does this sound like something anyone would be interested in? If not, we can continue to just Rule of Cool/handwave away the fact that technically the squadron should not be able to operate like this. If people would rather have their characters working on something else, that is a-okay, but I just wanted to put this out there as an opportunity for non-pilots/mechanics to be involved in the squadron.

ETA: since this is more of a "let more people get involved" kind of thing, there wasn't a real specific list of tasks I had in mind for the hanger crew to do, more of a "whatever you would have fun threading out" kind of thing. But here are a list of possible duties, just to give you an idea:

*keeping the x-wings fueled and stocked with emergency supplies
*waving around those light up traffic control batons when the X-wings are taking off/landing, to make sure no one crashes in to each other (yes the baton waving guys are in the movies, so it's canon, okay)
*regularly checking to make sure the pilot's life support gear works (also since I assume everyone only has one orange flight suit each, flight suit mending could be another thing, if anyone's characters would be interested in that)
*when there's a battle going on, standing by with fire extinguishers in case an x-wing comes in damaged and ... well, on fire. also standing by with first aid kits to preform triage/help transport pilots to the medbay if anyone comes in injured
*preforming more of a quartermaster role, that is keeping track of the squadron's supplies, and noting when new supplies need to be gathered (not that there's a lot of opportunity to gather new supplies, but you know, keeping track of that shit is important)
*if your character is more of the culinary type, making sure the squadron break room is stocked with coffee and goodies/food for the pilots and rest of the staff & crew
*it also wouldn't hurt for the squadron to have their own medic just on hand, in case one of them gets hurt in training or while working on the ships or something or to tend to the black eye shinn is inevitably going to get when someone punches him out
*I really don't know of anyone on the crew right now who does anything remotely like physical therapy, but if there is someone, technically all the pilots who got injured ought to have some kind of PT to help them recover before they're flight capable again
*someone to just do basic cleaning in the squadron headquarters. I doubt anyone's actually cleaned it ever since the rogues moved in, there has to be a pretty hefty layer of dust in there. I KNOW THAT IS A REALLY GLAMOROUS JOB, but hey, if your character likes cleaning, they would definitely be appreciated!

I'm sure there's other things that can be added to the list as well, but as you can see, when I say "ground crew" it could really basically include anything and everything your character might be interested in doing, as long as it was connected to the squadron in some way.
