1st Weekly Character Activity Post

Hey folks!

Since we hadn't gotten around to it when it was originally suggested several months ago, and this recent post shows that people are still interested in the idea, we have decided to finally implement...

 

THE WEEKLY CHARACTER ACTIVITY POST!

Basically, here's how it will work. Every week on Sunday, we will put up a post like this one here, with the "!character activity" tag. Everyone can tag in, listing all the things they want to handwave their characters doing between the current activity post and the next one. In addition, a link will be added to the sidebars of both the main comm and the OOC comm that will link to the !character activity tag, where obviously the most recent character activity post will be available at the top.

So, go ahead and give it a go! Depending on how well this works, some adjustments may be made, but we'll figure things out as we go.

Also: An open post round-up! Need something to do? Why not tag into one of these open posts?

Luis Sera is up to his usual tricks of putzing around the contagion lab working on his "projects." He's working on setting up a schedule for those science classes he was talking about, and later this week I'll probably do a thread for people who were interested in donating blood and tissue samples for his, uh... "projects."

And hitting on ladies, of course.

Sylia Stingray is scoping out the candidates for the elections and spends the rest of her time digging around in the media library for any clues she can find about the state of technology in all of your worlds.

Steve Burnside is sitting in quarantine.

But he is 67% recovered from his most recent outbreak and now looks outwardly normal enough (with the bandages and stuff) that he's not tinting his bubble anymore, so people who head back to quarantine in the contagion lab will be able to see him sulking in there. The docs estimate he'll be out in another week.

Negi Springfield Will be training, working out a little and teaching his Practical Magic and language class as Nagi Springfield aka adult form.

Matt Olsen'll be in the bus all week, healing really wipes him out for like two weeks or more. He'll be available for talking to on anything.

Rein'll be in the clothing store, the WITCH Bus or sleeping cause she's such a lazy girl. Also on shift in the bridge.

Ed Elric will be holed up in the library studying anatomy, physiology and only venturing out for slop, sword lessons with Katara and Nanashi as well as getting his arm fixed by Winry. Anyone wanting to bug him can find him at the library or hydroponics.

Ben Tennyson will be reading up on various alien lifeforms, later on visiting Kang with any luck, as well as getting used to his old aliens coming out of the woodwork.

Jamie Hemeros will be doing damn near anything he can to keep from thinking about shit. Primarily this includes things Rogue-related, but he also putters around the hangar at large and wanders around down in the city looking for things that need to be repaired or cleaned up or whatever.

Totally! Although Jamie knows fuckall about gardening and might or might not be persuaded to learn more, he'd definitely be willing to help out if he's asked - and he's actually a pretty decent cook, so he could help with that if Cas needs it too. Moving would also be something he'd help with.

Hiccup will be learning science and basic mechanics from anyone and anything available. This could mean people (anyone willing tie handwave the nitty gritty? I don't want to play out every bit of schooling) but most likely it means just reading lots of books and pamphlets and encyclopedias on his omnicom.

He's also reading some of Goliath's books, since Goliath said he could, and the dictionary.

Superboy is training like crazy in the Sensoriums and at any open training opportunities. He wants to get to be a better fighter. He's also been training his new dog, Bitey.

Brainiac 5 and Jaime Reyes are Gladosed right now as I figure out stuff with them.

Hellion is busy practicing and otherwise messing around, hanging out, and hitting on anything with a nice enough pair of tits.

Jamie McCrimmon will be getting cleared to work and will be resuming his normal job of helping to clear up things in the city. Otherwise he'll probably be meandering around the ship, occasionally following one of the Doctors when he can find them and doing his training in Engineering. Zuko is recovering from burns sustained during his fight with the Grenadiers, and practicing his firebending hardcore in expectation of fighting some more of them.

Will Vandom is going to be GLaDOs'd very shortly for a canon update.

Allen Gentry is hard at work putting together a presentation for the scientific aspects of his involvement with getting Tom and Aftran non-sentient hos bodies. Post for that will be up oh so very soon because yayplot.

Goliath is reading many many books in anticipation of Book Club, which you are allowed to talk about.

Aeneas: Been kinda failing with his Muse recently, so I’ve decided that he’s been recovering in Medbay for a while. Mostly burn injuries. Maybe he got a visitor or two. I’ll pop him back in Wednesday-ish.

Dustin Silver: I’ve threaded out almost everything with him thus far, but apparently he’s helped Tenaya in repairing some of her cybernetic parts before he left? I’m also not handwaving him not being at the first Squadron training post, so feel free to jump him in the hallway or something for not making it. I may or may not handwave Dustin doing repairs in the Bridge. Poke me if this needs to happen.

The (Fifth) Doctor: I’ll be threading Five doing…all the things he promised after getting back. Such as talking to Jenny, looking at those charts of the Bleed, meeting up with Billy and discussing Engineering stuff (because Jamie told him to), etcetera etcetera. Otherwise I suppose he’s been exploring, as per usual.

Kate Bishop - Likewise healing and resting. Trying to get back into training, inquired about clothing detail. (Also arguing with Julian... again. Seriously, she hasn't argued with somebody this much since Eli)

Castiel is looking for Sam, so he'll be wandering all over the ship. When he's not looking for Sam, he'll be in the media library, researching gardening, and in hydroponics, trying out his research. The SPN boys are also going to be taking over a house in the city, so Cas will be moving furniture and stuff into their house and making it habitable. Then he's going to try his hand at cooking~! Anyone who wants to help with/jump in on any of this is more than welcome!

Rupert Giles has been teaching self defense classes...I just fail badly at getting them up.

Tobias Fangor Has been doing some teaching connected with the flying peeps...but he's also been consumed with Tom's arrival and Aftran and lots of Animorphs plot stuff.

I'm ambiguous about Giles and may get a school post up for him eventually, but with the plottage going on with my canonmates, it was hard to squeeze in Tobias's class.

Seeley Booth is just being himself, struggling with once again being in a shootout. He'll get happier though when podpop happens and Bones returns. (or, first arrives, in his mind.)

Billy Cranston's daily schedule is something like this:

-Wake up (rolls out of bed and out the door right away)
-First visit to Special Weapons to make sure nothing broke/disappeared/exploded overnight (20 minutes)
-Breakfast (20 minutes)
-First shift in Special Weapons (3.5 hours)
-A science class (chemistry, physics, engineering) (1.5 hours)
-Lunch (20 minutes)
-Second shift in Special Weapons (3.5 hours)
-Physical training (1.5 hours)
-Dinner (20 minutes)
-Third shift in Special Weapons (3.5 hours)
-Bed

On those days when he meets up with people and socializes around the ship for longer than the 45-minute break between dinner and third shift, he tends to be either skipping a meal, cutting down the training routine, or getting less sleep.

Each class runs about every other day, he trains with Kang/Ronon, Katara, and alone on alternating days, and the current engineering project he's focusing on is weaponry against the Ohm. He's still looking to assign the construction of the lights Kang needs for his tavern.

John Connor won't be doing anything special this week besides possibly working with Kusanagi. However he will be making an attempt to be more visible in general to the crew so hopefully they think he's a little less of paranoid nutjob. This means he'll be floating around the more frequented areas of the ship for a change instead of lurking in Grand Central Station.

Kyle Katarn Will be running the Rogue's boot camp with Trudy. So he'll be up early, and busy all day. If you want to talk to him he'll usually be at his new home with Arha in the evenings.

     Arha is still working to get herself back in shape after the ohm attack--the process has been slower than she would like.  her activities include rehabilitation via the sensorium, meditation at the jedi temple, and mostly resting at the villa, though she has been attempting to push herself in order to clear a positive flight status.  reaquiring her flight status has been a particular goal and one she is determined to meet by the week's end. 

As of yet, she has not been cleared to heal, but has been trying to strengthen her mind and body in preparation for healing Vader once more.

     She has claimed a two bedroom villa near the Vatican as the home she shall share with kyle katarn and has been making an effort to clean the place up.  there are now two beds, several carpets, and a sufficient number of amenities available within her apartments.  most notably, Arha got her hands on a water heating unit and a significant amount of tea leaves.  while she has been healing, arha has been engrossed in reading up on mechanics via the media library in preparation for helping to restore her damaged x-wing.  She is debating an attempt to harvest some plants from hydropnics to fill out the bare spots and create her own garden in the small atrium of the villa.

Char is stuck in Rogues bootcamp, and otherwise mostly bumming around, having claimed a small apartment in the City FOR THE HONOR OF NEO-ZEON and is mostly keeping to himself and watching how this whole "election" nonsense shakes out.

He's also hunting around for a black market in real food, but I don't imagine his military bearing is really helping with that.
