Right, whereas under the proposed reorg she'd be part of the first group, and so she'd be doing blacksmithing work (of course) and working with other characters as part of the smithing and engineering support groups to improve techniques and whatnot.

Magical characters can provided TONS of help with their abilities in medical, engineering, security, everywhere! But since there's nothing in place to do that, it doesn't happen routinely.
