Rebellion Water Cooler

With the Rebellion coming up (the general opinion so far suggests late April, but we don't yet have a hard deadline) people are wondering what their characters can do to get involved or help overthrow the Daligig. Some characters ICly don't know what's going on yet; others do but have incomplete information; others wouldn't support the effort and yet others would try and coordinate groups. We don't want anyone to feel like they're left out because their characters haven't ICly put the pieces together, so this post is for ideas for CR-building and coordinating that will allow everyone to participate. A new survival guide is also in the works and will be put on the comms ICly, which will summarize some but not all of the information floating around.

If you have ideas for how you want your character to participate in the rebellion, this is the place to post them! If you have no idea and feel a little lost, feel free to ask others if they're interested in doing something with your character regarding this plot. If you have mini-plot ideas for getting information on the Daligig or gaining weaponry, knowledge of Stacy, so on so forth, this might be a good place to find other characters to play those out with.

Ideas to Get Involved: Daligig super-soldier punching, jailbreaking perps, perpetrating rebellion, jamming communications, blocking Stacy, Ohm communications.

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He's all for it, and due to conversations with Leon knows that Command suspects that they can get the keys from the Daligig by winning their trust.

Ideas to Get Involved: Howard is going to TALK TO EVERYBODY. I'm also working with Shae on having him work as a liaison with Kang.

Anything Else?: I'll be gone for most of the month of May and won't be able to participate in the plot then, so I'm more interested in the stuff that leads up to the plot. I am also happy to NPC the Daligig.

-She's been an assassin for most of her life and is quite adept at killing people using any weapon (but she is particularly good with knives).
-She has strong telepathic skills and can read minds (although this ability has been diminished she can still do it with effort).
-She has limited telekinetic skills (mostly against the Ohm).
-She is good at tactics and leading rebellions as she was the second in command of the Sons of Korhal, a terrorist organization whose mission was to overthrow the Confederacy, an interplanetary government.

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion:
-Kerrigan was experimented on by the previous Daligig crew and had her bones broken when she confronted the Daligig. As a result she has been pushing for a rebellion whenever she sees the subject discussed.

Ideas to Get Involved: She would like to organize it and help to spearhead the movement. Spying and assassinations are also options.

Anything Else?: Kerrigan would like to see the Daligig dead, preferably as painfully as possible and will be hard to hold back from killing them. But she can be convinced to restrain herself (for now). But she could just as easily be a problem if we wanted to play with that.

Ideas to Get Involved: Maybe working on sensor things or distracting the Daligig? Since Eleven can act flighty, it might be something to work with, make him less of a visible threat since it might look like he's doing more of the same when he's aiding the resistance?
Anything Else?: I'd probably be slow though, and not able to get into too many threads at once. :(

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: She thinks it's a damn good idea. She's tired of being jerked around and would rather the crew be able to fight for themselves.
Ideas to Get Involved: Strike Team could have a decent role in this, I'd think. Maybe that team could be a focal part of the actual rebellion, like a first strike? idk
Anything Else?: She could probably also be a decent distraction/smash things! Elephant morph, for instance, or her morph of Celena.

Character Name: Tim Drake/Red Robin

Role on Ship: member of Engineering, Neuropathy, Programming, and a Senior Officer in Security
Skills: Stealth, sleuthing, combat, tech.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He thinks it's a good idea, but tricky. He thinks the way they're doing it-- ie with the fake out beginning-- is logical. Since it's going to happen, he'd want to make sure it's organised.
Ideas to Get Involved: Security would most likely be the force that puts down the fake out rebellion, so there's that. Also, Neuropathy could surely play a role in the whole 'busting Stacy's brain free' thing. Beyond that, his skills are applicable in a lot of ways, so whatever works I guess...

Role on Ship: runs the Clothier. :| which is not particularly useful in this.
Skills: flight, combat, control of air flow
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: She's uncertain. She wants to trust them but doesn't know if she can. She'd want to help, though, even if she's unsure.
Ideas to Get Involved: Maxine would be willing to help basically anywhere. I don't really have any particular ideas for her involvement right now sob

Skills: Military training in both medieval weaponry (swords, axes, etc), medieval engineering (siege engines, fortifications, bridges, etc.), and 21st century Earth weaponry, decent sorceror, excellent strategist/tactician and diplomat, and was involved in gathering/selling information back on his home world (his nation made a huge profit off of it), and subterfuge against another large military group (the Dark Knights).
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He's for rebellion (he's really goddamn sick of people using him), and is aware that people are starting to plan one, but would prefer to have more information and a solid, strategic plan backed by Command and Council before making any moves, to minimize deaths as much as possible and avoid a repeat of what happened with the last crew. Basically, LET'S NOT BE DUMB ABOUT THIS.
Ideas to Get Involved: Well, he runs Intelligence. And he's a Councilor, so he'd have to publicly denounce the fake rebellion when it happens.
Anything Else?: INTELLIGENCE, SOUND OFF SO WE CAN START PLANNING STUFF.

I also had a few ideas here, and have tossed around the idea on plurk of Intelligence overhearing the Daligig saying suspicious things to suggest that the repoddings of the Captain and several department heads (Neuropathy and Science and Medical fairly recently IC hmmmmmm isn't that coincidental?) was done on purpose, as a thing to lead up to rebellion.

Ideas to Get Involved: Lash can build...so many things. Be in the rangers, fight alongside demons, really it's like 'STICK HER HERE SHE WILL HELP'
Anything Else?: She also comes with a CO power bonus that can be boosted by either 1)Hawke or 2)Zetta to give a certain attacking group power bonuses. It's a thing that lasts a short while and can help turn the tide of a battle. It comes with its own music.

Skills: He can use magic (Harry Potter magic is pretty diverse and hard to summarize). He's an accomplished fighter in duels (again, magic). He was a member of the Order of Phoenix, who resisted Voldemort. As such he has experience in subterfuge and participating in undercover resistance.

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion:
He's only just learned about the Daligig and doesn't know very much about the rebellion, other than that he thinks it'd be a good idea for one to happen. He'll be sympathetic and could get involved but could just as easily play the part of putting down the rebellion.

Ideas to Get Involved: He could be a fighter on either side as part of the rebellion or people pretending to put them down. He's also quite clever so he could get involved in plans and coordinating everything. For his mental state, it would be better for him to not be obviously on the side of rebellion since he'd react poorly to even a mock incarceration.

Skills: Fighting, has played roles before to try and find out information for the Doctor, good at creeping down corridors, occasionally comes up with simple plans to get something done that are surprisingly effective. Former Jacobite, so not exactly a stranger to the idea of rebellion.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Is under the impression that there may be some people trying to get something together, currently weighing the ideas of getting involved versus keeping Victoria safe.
Ideas to Get Involved: Can fight or help build some of the simpler things in Engineering. Also could possibly be used as a decoy or a plant, provided a plan is already in place to do so. Might also be able to help gather some information, depending on how it needed to be done and what devices would be available to help.
Anything Else?: Will not be able to do much of anything that involves a substantial knowledge of tech, like computer hacking. However, if you need him to punch a bunch of buttons to overload a computer system and get it to blow up, he's your guy.

Ideas to Get Involved: Providing tech support- hacking into Stacy and/or ensuring they aren't hacked. Making/repairing weapons if they need them.

Anything Else?: Long term I'd like to see Cassie return to combat but that won't happen for a while. But I wouldn't mind seeing her forced into fighting.

Character Name: Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch

Role on Ship: Former councilor, member of magical department, currently podded

Is currently podded until April so this will all be a surprise. She'll either want to sign up or be proactive in faking the crew condemning the rebellion (and then springing them free).

Ideas to Get Involved: She'll come into this late (unless it happens before podpop) so she'd be a fighter on either side.

Mark Lilly will just be over there watching everything go down and trying to save his skin. Daimon Hellstrom will either be GLaDOSed or too sick to help.

-Good strategist, and good at gathering information when he tries. Low on resources though.
-Experienced at ranged fighting. Also good at dodging.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Been talking with Barbara about doing a fake rebellion as a ploy to gain the Daligig's loyalty before really taking the reigns. He has experience with rebellion and dissent, so he's all for this, but he prefers to do it in a sneeaky way.
Ideas to Get Involved: Uuuh he probably needs to talk to people, but I could see him getting involved with organizing it and pretending to be on the Daligig's side, and gathering information while being sneaky and all that. He's kind of an ass though and he's not really that concerned about getting anyone killed via cannon fodder, so probably not the best for a leadership position.

Character Name: Razputin "Raz" Aquato
Canon: Psychonauts
Role on Ship: Official Psychonaut Representative, Stacy Enthusiast, Annoying Insufferable Psychic Kid.
Skills: Strong psychic powers, including but not limited to levitation, setting stuff on fire, psychic punches, confusion grenades, invisibility, and diving into someone's brain and exploring their mental mindscape. A pretty good fighter, but has the attention span of a ten year old.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He doesn't know that much about it, but he's already agreed to help hack into Stacy's brain somehow. He'll basically go along with the rebellion because the crew is.
Ideas to Get Involved: Like I said, he can go into mentalscapes, so he volunteered to help get into Stacy. He can probably be sneaky if he tries, and could probably help diverting Stacy and the Daligig's attention with psykik hax. He was planning on investigating the Tapestry and looking into the Magic Department but been busy exploriating.
Anything Else?: He works on the road crew.

Role on Ship: Resident Hole-Driller, Starfighter Command Fighter, potential Council member depending on election results.
Skills: Piloting, making hot-blooded speeches, balancing hotheadedness and reason (usually).
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: All for it, and wants to do his part to help.
Ideas to Get Involved: There's the whole "use Lagann to try to hack Stacy" thing that's been bounced around - this could be part of the staged rebellion, but he needs to know about the idea of a staged rebellion first, or I'm all for throwing him under the bus without him knowing. (This could also be interesting if he was part of the council once it happens for the sake of showing the Daligig that "hey, we are totally willing to take down one of own political leaders", while once he's in the brig it's all wink-wink-nudge-nudge-just-play-along.)

Ideas to Get Involved: Have her as part of the team that rebels and gets put down? It might look too suspicious if the rebelling team doesn't have anyone powerful on their side, but there are definitely ways to take her out.

Ideas to Get Involved: He will be staging a Quidditch game as a ruse to get more people involved---they'll play, but at the end he'll gather the players and tell them what's going on.
Anything Else?: Might end up on the side of the rebellion that gets put down if it doesn't have enough people.

Ideas to Get Involved: Probably a more tech-y role, perhaps splitting up with the other Doctors to cover all their bases.

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Wants to rebel, only question is how/when. He'd like it to take as few crew casualties as possible. Knows pretty much what there is to know about Ildy's rebellion plans.
Ideas to Get Involved: Zouichi is excellent in a fight, but his AI is also specialized for hacking into computer systems, including organic computer systems because of the way Zouichi himself was made. Because Zouichi knows or knows about pretty much everyone on the ship, it would be pretty easy for him to spread information, too.
Anything Else?: Not sure how many dudes I want to put in the rebellion atm, listing each of them anyway.

Character Name: Gerald Tarrant

Skills: Tarrant's powers include forcibly stealing information and memories from people, whether they are physically present or not. He can also misdirect enemies, force them to fixate elsewhere or overlook things, and deprive them of the ability to act. Also freezing things and brain-melting his enemies.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: That it is happening! Tarrant is all for it as long as they have an actionable plan.
Ideas to Get Involved: All in all, he'd be good for information gathering/shielding stuff from the Daligig. If someone needs to be interrogated, he's there. If someone needs to be compelled, he can do that, too.

Ideas to Get Involved: Perhaps work with Neuropathy to examine the data from the Daligig and see how it can be tweaked to give Stacy more freedom.

Rhiow actually had an idea that Neuropathy should be looking for ways to root out what remains of the Warden program. Her idea is that once the Warden is gone, they may be able to appeal to Stacy herself and get her on their side.

Skills: Wizardry. Invisibility, instant teleportation, shielding, blowing stuff up real good, and a million other little tweaks to how the universe works. She can also go unnoticed rather easily since, well, she's a housecat. If she keeps her mouth shut, she's nothing special.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Knows that it's being planned thanks to Simon's network post, has started to keep a mental list of people likely to fall on the side of open rebellion and has discussed the pragmatic decision of brigging them to win the Daligig's trust with Zetta.
Ideas to Get Involved: As one of the offical government representatives of the ship and also someone that would be very hard to read a lie on, talking face-to-face with the Daligig is an option - however this would neatly blow her cover since she's ICly been following them as an unobtrusive housecat some of the time. She can continue in that capacity.
Anything Else?: It's possible that Rhiow's wizardry could help Neuropathy in rooting out the Warden, since it gives her the ability to communicate with anything and put her magic behind it.

Character Name: General Trudy Chacon

Skills: Piloting, shooting, command. The fleet answers to her, if it needs to be deployed she'll command it.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: She knows that it's floating around the water cooler, she thinks it's a dumb idea to buck the Daligig openly when they apparently have a lot of clout with the GIA. She also has a vested interest in making sure that none of her own hot-blooded pilots get themselves killed.
Ideas to Get Involved: Trudy takes her military very seriously - if any of her people "mutiny," she'll come down on them like the fury of a fiery sun, precedent being Allenby's dishonorable discharge. She'll probably be one of the people "proving their loyalty" to the Daligig by punishing the people who openly rebel.
Anything Else?: If it ever comes down to a fight, she's willing to fight. She just doesn't want to see anyone get hurt for doing something dumb.

Ideas to Get Involved: Point her in a direction and let her loose, she will destroy everything in her path.
Anything Else?: Kyladriss is a scribe and a capable forger. In canon, one of your daily quests is "forged documents," presumably import/export or citizenship papers. Not sure how useful that would be when most everyone uses data pads instead of paper documents.

He thinks it would be nice to get out from under the Daligig's control, having never fully trusted them in the first place, but he has no real hope that any kind of rebellion will actually succeed and worries that any attempts to confront the Daligig would only make things worse for everyone.

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: WHY HASN'T IT HAPPENED ALREADY pretty much. She is ready to kick some Daligig ass like, two weeks ago. She saw Sakura and Barbara's projection in the Sensoriums and is amazingly pissed about it.
Ideas to Get Involved: She would be an excellent candidate for a fake rebellion. She's already been discussing things with Simon and Zouichi and likes the cut of Ildy's jib, but also understands why Trudy told Simon to hold off a bit. If the fakers are in the loop, she'll go along, If they're not, she'll be pissed at command forever, not that this is new.
Anything Else?: Allenby doesn't object to working with Command and Council, but she assumes that if they aren't saying anything, they 1. aren't planning anything or 2. don't respect the crew enough to keep them in the loop and thus learned no lesson from Galilee, so the crew would be totally justified in acting how they will.

ALSO: She will be playing Marco Polo with Stacy in the city this week to find new blind spots, which I will be putting up a post about soon if anyone wants in on that.

Character Name: Fuu Hououji

Role on Ship: Paperwork person for the Clothiers. STILL NOT IN A DEPARTMENT YET mainly because I am absentminded she is trying to bring up her knowledge base past 1993.
Skills: Swordfighting, archery, wind magic (offense, defense, and healing), giant not!robot fighting, computer programming, thinking.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: She saw the Sensorium log of the old crew, and while she hasn't fully decided her opinion on the trustworthiness of Command/Council, she thinks a self-determined ship is way preferable to the Daligig because they seem to view the crew as farm animal soldiers at best.
Ideas to Get Involved: Apart from her battle skills, Fuu is quite smart and much better at keeping a cool head than Allenby is. She's been studying up on her programming and has amazing skills of politeness and not panicking, so she's a good person to get sneaky things done.
Anything Else?: She hasn't actually told anyone else about Windam yet (the aforementioned giant not-robot) yet.
