That's...complicated.

Originally he was pre-right before his death, but found out he died and moped about it for a while, and then a plot deaged him and reaged him, but it managed to pull time from back home so he then became post-his-resurrection, and so now he's basically right up to that doomsday plot with all the supers and post-new-krypton being destroyed (whichever came first, I forget), but pre-that awful titans plot where he was cool with the Titans killing his clones when it makes no sense given how much of his early stuff had him worrying about the rights of clones.

So. Uh. Ultimately, he's from right before the end of the pre-DCNU stuff but kinda weird because he was from an earlier point initially. And he's been on the ship for like...ever, so he's like 20 now.

Also Superman died in a big battle and saved like everyone ever, and he lost a hand in a plot right before it, and he's taken up the red and blues and is trying to make Kal proud.

ahahaha, oh, terrible titans plots, why are there so many of you

man it is so weird that despite new titans being so mediocre, i enjoy the simple fact that lobdell has promised no killing off any titans, and no trigon and deathstroke stories all over again, because last time i checked into them, the two people who migrated over from Superfriends were eaten alive by wonder dog, and i just checked right back the fuck out

(and bunker is pretty great, so that helps the new book too)

WELP, good to be caught up then!

That was one of the only DCNU books I tried out and didn't hate it but I fell out of love with comics in general since my investment was in specific characters and seeing where they were going and those versions no longer exist.

But yeah, dude, Titans was AWFUL for a while. There'd be a bright spot now and again and then ANOTHER TITAN DIES or whatever and it was just so bad. Like the writers thought they didn't have to understand the individual characters to write them in a team setting. Like under Felicia Henderson, somehow Jaime Reyes magically went from having a stable home life with two loving parents and a solid, interesting support network of friends, to being a toubled kid from the ghetto (because I guess she thought that's the only place Latinos can be from?) I nearly cried.

Anyhoo, yes, that plot is ignored and Kon is trying to be awesome and he will probably be overkill with trying to be impressive and supermannish to the amateur superhero dude and try to show him the ropes because OH GOD, THAT AGE. Not that he ever was that age for very long since he popped out of the tube aged like 14-15, but STILL. You are just a bb spider-person Miles. Let him show you the magical world of superheroing in ways where you can maybe bypass all those dumb teenage mistakes all the teen heroes inevitably make.

felicia henderson was originally gonna be the one to write the new static book

then john rozum came in and i was like OH THANK GOD, I AM SAVED

and then it turns out he pretty much wasn't allowed to write that comic at all, so now i'm stuck waiting for xombi V3 or some shit in the dcnu after he got screwed over

(if you're still willing to try out dcnu, i'd rec the obvious animal man, and swamp thing, but also surprise faves batwing, i vampire, frankenstein, and the new birds of prey)

(sadly the entire young justice line is pretty mediocre to awful and looks like it'll stay that way for the foreseeable future, ravagers with friggin' howard mackie of all people what)

first things first, miles will have to actually get a costume again

I may look into those when I have more pocket change. I have heard many good things about Animal Man.

And Miles doesn't need a costume. He can take after 616 Peter and wear a paper bag over his head.
