PLOT PLOT PLOT
A new plot is starting, as promised, now that the podpop is pretty much wrapped.
DO NOT that this plot starting as a sign to give up on any threads you've got ongoing. We use a fabulous little mechanism called bendytime, that means that different things at different times can be threading at the same time. This plot just takes place AFTER all the current ongoing threads.
This plot is called "Feeling Sluggish?" and has discreetly been ongoing since shortly after the start of the game. The gist of this plot is that a good chunk of the crew has been taken over by alien parasites.
That's right, people that some of you have threaded with have actually been infested by alien parasites parading their bodies around like puppets. And we're not telling you which ones. You're going to find out who when their players--who are obviously in the know--have their characters suddently turn on yours and try to take yours down. They're going to attempt to kill the metahumans, and enslave and infest all the non-metas. And they're going to do this throughout the ship, with very advanced and deadly weapons, while everyone is split up and going about their day.
Some of your characters are going to be infested. It depends entirely on how you play, if they can overpower their potential captors. If infested, you will join the ranks of players of capturers. Your character will be freed again at the end of the plot.
Some of your characters are going to be attacked and have to fend off enemies. They may wind up severely injured (though no one is going to die). Again, this depends on how you play, and they'll be taken to MedBay and fixed up at the end of the plot.
As the plot goes on, the good guys will rally and take down all the infected people. Keeping them captive for three days without access to the alien parasites' food source will kill the parasites and free the host, ending the nightmare once and for all.
So get ready, people. After the initial setup scene that is running over this weekend, the plot will start in earnest, probably around Monday or Tuesday. Scenes will be set up for people to interact. If you'd like to set up your own scene with someone to have them interrupted mid-conversation by goings, on, go for it. Just remember you could be interacting with another uninfected player, OR with an infected one that's going to attack and try to capture. Trust no one.
EDIT: Don't tag this sucker, but keep an eye on it for context for the rest of the plot. Brainy's fate may be the fates of some of your characters, mwa ha ha. Once this thread is finished (and it'll likely take the next day or two), it'll be go time. Use these next two days or so to try to finish up your dangling threads.
SON OF EDIT: If you didn't get the email for some reason, but did happen on this post, please comment with "It's go time!" or some equivalent, just so we know you're up for participating in the plot. If you're having problems or something or have fallen behind and need help, email the mods--now's the time to do it so we can get you caught up.
