Optional Mediated Crew Meetings
Okay, so I had an idea. Aang wants to do something to help the crew find their balance. As such, he's recruited Cargn to help him with a little project.
Back in the beginning of the game, we used to have shipwide meetings, which were a lot of fun, got a lot of CR going, gave people stuff to talk about, allowed different departments to interact and discuss projects, and so on. It gave everyone a say, and gave everyone something to do. The crew got too big, though, to force all the players into the meetings, people got lost, and we had to drop them.
So my idea is, rather than mandatory meetings, optional ones. Maybe once a month. Before each meeting, an ooc post will go up where players will discuss IC issues that will be talked about at the meeting. A post will go up that people can tag to to establish there character is there, and then I figured we could have threads for each issue.
Full blown arguments can happen, people can work through crew problems, people can communicate to other departments, and a group of mediators helps keep the discussions on track and moving towards IC solutions our characters can walk away from.
I was thinking, since the mediators are a role anyone with a calm temperament and a sound mind can do, that I'd limit the mediator roles strictly to non-combatants, since they're in need of roles on the ship. OOCly, you'd have to be prepared to really get in there with your character, though, just keep that in mind.
And months that there's not much to talk about on the ooc post that's put up before, there wouldn't be a meeting. Oh, and it'd be towards the end of the month, when plots are wrapping and no podpops and so on.
How does this sound to people as something to do? Any thoughts on the structure of it? The timing?
