Intelligence Planning!

Since there's a bit of a lull at the moment now seems like a good time to sort out some more Intelligence stuff.

Currently, the people who are in Intelligence right now are:

• Ax
  
• Celena
  
• Marco
  
• Rachel
  
• Rhiow

The people who can be approached now are:

• Aibghalien - no handwave
  
• Dean - no handwave

The people we still need to have spied on and invited are:

• Jeka - no handwave, delay until Melting Clock Plot, need an unaffected spy
  
• Jono - no handwave, will probably notice spy
  
• Peter Parker (older) - no handwave, will probably notice spy
  
• Sofia - no handwave (may handwave approach?)

The people who need someone in Intelligence to recommend them:

• Cassandra (who will be tricky, we're still not sure if she'll work)
  
• Gandraya
  
• Roxanne

On hold peeps:

• Iniss (needs recommendation + spying, will not be considered until he has his own body)
  
• Sam (does not need a reccomendation or spying, but will not be considered until Shmutz has his own body

So, what we need to figure out right now is who wants to play out the spying, and/or Kang approaching them to ask if they want in. We can handwave for those guys who don't want to do that, but for those who do want to we'll need to pick someone to spy on them, and set up logs where Kang approaches them.

We also need to figure who can recommend the guys in the last lot. It doesn't need to be anything too complicated - all we need is for someone else to notice that they may have some potential spy skills, and suggest them to Kang. If needed, we can try brainstorming a bit here to see if we can engineer some scenarios where they'll come to people's attention.

Well, progress wise a few of the threads I've done with Sandy so far involved her sneaking about the city in one way or another. Climbing trees to watch people, skulking around buildings looking for things she might like to take back to her room.

I know she's still seriously questionable because of her age and her tendency to run and hide rather then stand and fight, but I'm willing to work and see what we can come up with. Over time she'll become more courage as she gains character development.

I think with Sandry, we're still not really going to know until we try and actually thread it out. Alas, I don't think we'll be able to handwave anything with her, even if you wanted to, orz

We'll still need someone who can recommend her, though. Which could also be tricky, since we'd need someone willing to recommend a child.

I'm game to thread out things...just wish I could figure out who would recommend her. All her contacts so far aren't involved in Intel ^_^;; Nothing like making it easy right?

Well, Sandry's not the only one! We also need to figure out Gandraya and Roxanne. Hopefully once we've got this batch brought in, it'll be a bit easier to figure out - then we can devote our planning to just figuring out how to get these guys recommendations, rather than trying to get everyone in Intelligence in the first place :P

And Sam's available for intel if y'all want him. After all, if Dean's part of things, Sam's usually good to go, too. (Admittedly, he may not be okay until Schmuz is out, according to Marco.)

Awesome, I'll move him up into the "can be spied on" category then. Do you know if you'd want to play out the spying, and being approached by Kang, or would you want to handwave some or all of that?

It's up to you if you want Sam in! As for Schmutz - despite the fact that I'm doing a lot of the organising for this, Marco isn't actually in any kind of position of power for this. He doesn't get to make the decisions - Kang does. I'll have to ask Shaela whether Kang would wait until Schmutz had his own body before approaching Sam.

I'm cool with it being played out. Jono needs to do more stuff anyway. :) I'm not sure how the spying can be played out, but I'm sure we'll figure something out.

I'm totally cool with Sam being part of intel. He's a great research guy and could be an awesome hacker guy with some training. :)

Usually, the spying involves the spy mun following all of your threads. Sometimes there might be some interaction, but that depends on who's doing the spying - the Animorphs, for example, won't interact with the person they're spying on, but they might hold conversations with other Animorphs that Jono comes along. Another character might decide that the best way to get info is to try and talk to them. Also, if Jono would actually realise that he's being spied on, that can totally happen too XD

Once I know more about who wants to handwave and who doesn't, I'll see about figuring out who's going to spy on who, and people can figure out stuff in more detail then.

Great, I'll add Sam to the list too then! I'll put him in the "needs a recommendation" category for now, since Dean's not in Intelligence yet, but it might also be that Kang knows him well enough that he doesn't need any spying, like Dean. I'll need to talk to Shaela.

OKAY I've talked to Shaela - Sam won't need to be spied on, buuuut Kang won't approach him until Schmutz has his own body. So he'll go on the waiting list with Iniss.

Awesome! As for how to thread it out - we'll, we'll need to figure out who'll be spying on him first, which I'll work on once I know who wants to handwave and who doesn't. Since Spidey will probably end up noticing his tail, we can work more on how things play out then.

I think intelligence is pretty darn well gathered on Abby at the moment, given who he's been hanging out with lately. The approach, though, might be fun.

Actually, since Ash is starting to get the newspaper thing rolling, that could be a good way to get her noticed. Especially since I believe Spidey will be involved in the newspaper, if Roxanne gets involved in that he might be able to recommend her to Kang.

I'd kind of like to play out the spying-on-Jeka, if part of it could be during the Melting Clock plot where she's deaging and going through a MASSIVE personality change ;)

Other than that, if no one has the time/interest to spy on her, I'm fine with handwaving it and just doing a brief scene where Jeka officially gets the invitation and joins.

Hi, I'd like to volunteer Midna for Intelligence! I've already gotten in touch with Shae about her joining, so here's a list of her relevant abilities:

* flight
* warping ability
* telekinesis
* transformation
* ability to hide in shadows

I'd also like to play out the spying; it sounds fun! Midna is not shy about using her powers, so it would be fairly easy for someone to notice her demonstrating them.

Anyways, since Midan's new we obviously can't have her get spied on yet. Once she's in though, we can find a way for one of the guys to notice some of her useful abilities!

Aaaah, I have to admit now is...kinda a bad time for me. Since I'm actually the one running Melting Clock, I'm not going to have so much time for organising Intelligence stuff. You could try and ask Shaela if she's got the time, or even organise it directly yourself with one of the other members? Sorry I can't help more myself, but I really need to focus on the plot, orz.
