Plot's Over!
Okay, hopefully LJ will let me post this.
With all the LJ troubles and how long plot has dragged out, we are now declaring cloneplot over because there's enough there for us to do that. We'll continue backtagging as soon as LJ stops being a butt and actually lets us post things and switch journals more easily, bringing all the threads to a close, but since all that can be backtagged and the vital stuff is done, it's time to move on, to give us time to thread on the ship until next plot.
Things established by the end of plot:
- Of the Councilors, only Orin and Asmin escaped alive.
- The new memories were uploaded successfully and spread to every Mother Brain in every cloning facility, and will be near-impossible to scrub away.
- The crew DID get the medical tech and the medical database, thought it'll be ages before they can use everything (if it's not confiscated).
- Querl and Tana arranged and uploaded footage of batches of clones getting "terminated" to the Feelies, as well as proof of the Council's deception about making new bodies for themselves and rigging the elections
- There is now civil unrest, though the basic government infrastructure was undamaged
- Any chance of an alliance has been dashed to teeny, tiny pieces.
- Galilee's future is otherwise entirely unknown. The crew may never know the long-term effects of their actions. What they did may have helped for the better or may have led to Galilee's ruin.
Any questions can be asked here. Please bear with us with the tags, because 1) We are really burnt out from managing such a big plot, and 2) LJ's being a butt. Can't speak for the others, but I can't switch journals easily (or at all, on occasion) and I'm constantly getting 503 errors.
EDIT: As of what happened in the thread, new detail to add. Superboy, Rory, Daniel, and Sam's group would have allowed Moses and Guy to free all the blank clones that'd been programmed with the crew's memories, thus leading to a huge group capable of doing just about anything. They might be an army, they might be a giant nonviolent protest movement. The crew would have left before they found out, and only maybe Nightwing would find out it happened before they left.

Thanks. Also, and thank you all for running the plot.

The crew isn't really going to know what happened though, since they'll have just blipped out without really seeing how it all ends.
And no prob! Was kinda unwieldy but still lots of fun.

Option 1: The crew helped the clones do whatever they need to, to have a chance to win without talking them into doing it nonviolently.
A violent clone army, programmed by Guy, would've overthrown the government and completely destabilized Galilean society. Riots in the streets, bloodshed, a mass clone revolt. It would've been tantamount to civil war, because the CLF was good at shaking things up but had no idea how to create a new government. Clones would've murdered their owners in their beds.
They would have really left the people of Galilee pretty screwed over if they helped the CLF unquestioningly and there may never have been a chance for them to stabilize before they were attacked by outside enemies.
(They might have still got the tech, though).
Option 2: Helping the government.
A people would have stayed enslaved, Moses and his crew would've been publicly executed and the diplomatic process breaking down would have made it so the Galileans wouldn't immediately hand over their tech, but they'd still probably have entered the GIA and at least given the crew a few bits of really advanced tech that weren't gamebreaky to go off with.
They may have possibly offered up clone armies to fight the Ohm to the GIA and it's unknown whether the GIA would accept but the risk is there. There's a huge risk that down the line the crew would be fighting side by side with GIA clone armies--maybe even of some of their members.
The Council are gits and they really didn't want to give away their society's secrets so the Trans9 crew wouldn't have seen much personal benefit.
Basically, they would've either destabilized a society or there could have been far-reaching consequences as a result of the GIA's desperation and what the Galileans would've offered to the war effort.
As it stands, they have the tech, they don't have the alliance, and while the clones have been released, they have good memories for context and no kill programming, which means more peaceful means of protest are a viable option. Thanks to the info released about the Council and the absolutely heart-breaking footage with the clone batches getting "decommissioned" that Querl and Tana out together and put into the Feelies, the Galileean populace is now actually a little pissed about their government and there's growing sympathy for the clones.
By taking the third option and talking Guy down out of releasing a killbot clone army, they gave the world the best chance it has to recover from its social ills, without being ENTIRELY destabilized. Whether or not it actually DOES turn into something is up in the air, because it could have just screwed them all over anyway.
You may or may not find out about what happened after they left later, though.
