Rebellion Water Cooler

With the Rebellion coming up (the general opinion so far suggests late April, but we don't yet have a hard deadline) people are wondering what their characters can do to get involved or help overthrow the Daligig. Some characters ICly don't know what's going on yet; others do but have incomplete information; others wouldn't support the effort and yet others would try and coordinate groups. We don't want anyone to feel like they're left out because their characters haven't ICly put the pieces together, so this post is for ideas for CR-building and coordinating that will allow everyone to participate. A new survival guide is also in the works and will be put on the comms ICly, which will summarize some but not all of the information floating around.

If you have ideas for how you want your character to participate in the rebellion, this is the place to post them! If you have no idea and feel a little lost, feel free to ask others if they're interested in doing something with your character regarding this plot. If you have mini-plot ideas for getting information on the Daligig or gaining weaponry, knowledge of Stacy, so on so forth, this might be a good place to find other characters to play those out with.

A general CR-building water cooler will be coming in the next few weeks. This is mostly to figure out how everyone's going to fit into the plot to overthrow the Daligig.

Character Name: Hidari Shoutarou
Canon: Kamen Rider W
Role on Ship: Security, Detective, Half-Boiled Wearer of Cool Hats That is Not the Eleventh Doctor
Skills: Being a detective, scoping things out, espionage gadgets, turning into a Kamen Rider and kicking/punching/staffing/shooting things.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Doesn't really know much about it yet.
Ideas to Get Involved: He can serve as an eyes and ears of sorts on the guise of his regular security patrols, and employ his various gadget animals
Anything Else?: hey guys what's going on in this plot

Character Name: Simon
Canon: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Role on Ship: Resident Hole-Driller, Starfighter Command Fighter, potential Council member depending on election results.
Skills: Piloting, making hot-blooded speeches, balancing hotheadedness and reason (usually).
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: All for it, and wants to do his part to help.
Ideas to Get Involved: There's the whole "use Lagann to try to hack Stacy" thing that's been bounced around - this could be part of the staged rebellion, but he needs to know about the idea of a staged rebellion first, or I'm all for throwing him under the bus without him knowing. (This could also be interesting if he was part of the council once it happens for the sake of showing the Daligig that "hey, we are totally willing to take down one of own political leaders", while once he's in the brig it's all wink-wink-nudge-nudge-just-play-along.)
Anything Else?: Simon is the most competent politician.

Character Name: Veronica Santangelo
Canon: Fallout: New Vegas
Role on Ship: Snarking Puncher of Stuff, Science department
Skills: Punching things, fixing things, building things.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Vague ideas of it, would be down with it once she knows more.
Ideas to Get Involved: Not sure of anything yet. :|a

Character Name: Lina Inverse
Canon: Slayers
Role on Ship: Being depodded in April if she is accepted!
Skills: Being awesome at casting magic, eating a lot, being underhanded and a forceful negotiator.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Jack and shit, but she'll probably strangle the information about everything going on out of someone.
Ideas to Get Involved: Prooooobably another good candidate to get thrown under the bus given her rash and impulsive nature toward stuff.
Anything Else?: NYEEEAAAAHHH

Patrol buddies sounds good. I'm leaning more toward handwaving Veronica's involvement/hearing about it unless something explicitly comes up that I really wanna toss her into. :|a

Would you be interested in having Howard feed Simon inaccurate information? I could see Howard telling him about a rebellion and not mentioning that it's staged, and they do live together now. I don't think Howard knows Simon well enough to tell him the whole plan.

I'm all for Simon not knowing about the whole staged thing, just so he puts on a convincing act without knowing he's acting. He'll be ticked about it later for a bit, but oh well.
