Rebellion Water Cooler
With the Rebellion coming up (the general opinion so far suggests late April, but we don't yet have a hard deadline) people are wondering what their characters can do to get involved or help overthrow the Daligig. Some characters ICly don't know what's going on yet; others do but have incomplete information; others wouldn't support the effort and yet others would try and coordinate groups. We don't want anyone to feel like they're left out because their characters haven't ICly put the pieces together, so this post is for ideas for CR-building and coordinating that will allow everyone to participate. A new survival guide is also in the works and will be put on the comms ICly, which will summarize some but not all of the information floating around.
If you have ideas for how you want your character to participate in the rebellion, this is the place to post them! If you have no idea and feel a little lost, feel free to ask others if they're interested in doing something with your character regarding this plot. If you have mini-plot ideas for getting information on the Daligig or gaining weaponry, knowledge of Stacy, so on so forth, this might be a good place to find other characters to play those out with.
For reference, the plan for rebellion is here.
A general CR-building water cooler will be coming in the next few weeks. This is mostly to figure out how everyone's going to fit into the plot to overthrow the Daligig.

Canon: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Role on Ship: Engineer guy, Power Ranger
Skills: Communications technology, mechanics, piloting, ground combat
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Has only seen what's on the omnicoms and is getting more and more suspicious. Not sure what to think yet, but can easily be persuaded.
Ideas to Get Involved: Communications team for freeing and shielding Stacy? Can also do combat if the Rangers want to.
Anything Else?:
Character Name: Starfire
Canon: Teen Titans
Role on Ship: Teenage superhero
Skills: Super strength, flight, energy bolts, eyebeams, extreme environment endurance, and the power of FRIENDSHIP.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: She has read what's open on the omnicoms and is all for it.
Ideas to Get Involved: Have her as part of the team that rebels and gets put down? It might look too suspicious if the rebelling team doesn't have anyone powerful on their side, but there are definitely ways to take her out.
Anything Else?:
Character Name:Cedric Diggory
Canon: Harry Potter
Role on Ship: Presumably Quidditch captain, wizard of the magical department
Skills: Magic, running, throwing things, talking to people
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Whatever Howard tells him. He wants the chance to be brave and help.
Ideas to Get Involved: He will be staging a Quidditch game as a ruse to get more people involved---they'll play, but at the end he'll gather the players and tell them what's going on.
Anything Else?: Might end up on the side of the rebellion that gets put down if it doesn't have enough people.
Character Name: Applejack
Canon: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Role on Ship: Hydroponics farmer
Skills: Bucking small objects at alarming speeds, lassoing things, herding.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Nothing yet, but she'll lend a hoof.
Ideas to Get Involved: Fight on the opposite side of whatever Rainbow Dash chooses in a beatdown brawl?
Anything Else?:
Character Name: Ninth Doctor
Canon: Doctor Who
Role on Ship: Nosy moody tinkerer, likes to jump into things without too much planning.
Skills: Repairs, communication, attempts at negotiation
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: No idea yet, but will follow the others!
Ideas to Get Involved: Probably a more tech-y role, perhaps splitting up with the other Doctors to cover all their bases.
Anything Else?:

Also if Applejack or Billy need help with anything, Atom would be happy to lend a hand.

Billy would love to take Atom along with some work.

He's fairly forgiving, but there might be a blowup after the rebellion.

Howard lies to you because he cares, Cedric! It could be interesting to do one of a few things:
-Howard doesn't mention that the rebellion is staged because he doesn't trust Ced as an actor.
-Howard tells Ced the rebellion itself will take place at a later date than it does, leaving Ced and Co. out of the action.
-Howard knows Ced would rather do the 'braver' thing and tricks him out of being in the faked rebellion, instead convincing him to work with security to put the fake rebellion down (which is safer)
-other ideas?

Door 1: Cedric is extremely upset that he was tricked into potentially hurting people (and leading a group into doing so) and angsts about it in the brig for a long while. This is the option that's most likely to destroy their friendship permanently.
Door 2: He's upset, but more understanding. They will have a Talk.
Door 3: He argues, but understands. He can easily subdue people without hurting them.
I guess what's important here is that if people would prefer their characters to go into the rebellion knowing it's a ruse or if some want theirs tricked into it? I can set up some questions to ask while we organize and find ways to do that.

Door 1: I don't know if this would have any effect since it doesn't change the principles of the idea, but Dragon suggested an idea where the staged rebellion peeps don't stay in the brig. I'm working on some ideas for how they could work on some secret lynchpin mission for the rebellion while the Daligig think they're in jail.
But I would be reluctant to have their friendship permanently destroyed, obviously.
Door 2: This could work, but it would mean that Ced and co. wouldn't be involved in the main action, which is something everyone would need to be okay with.
I personally find the idea of having characters tricked into helping exciting (and I volunteer Punchy) but yes, it would have to be something people agree on.

But maybe---hmm. I can see it working if Howard tricks him at first, Ced convinces his players to go for it, and then Howard changes his mind and tells him the truth before it starts? He'd still be upset, but he'd agree to go with Security and protect them---probably stage his own capture later to try to apologize and help out.
