New department Interest and Organisation [Spec Ops Task force/ Military ground forces]
For a good while we’ve had an organised space force yet no sign of a dedicated and/or organised military infantry/ground force.
Time to rectify that!
Thus I bring to you the possibility of the Special Operations task force to act as a dedicated military force capable of taking on missions of a vast variety of sorts. Be it ground battles, boarding actions, night raids and reconnaissance missions, the Task force will be up for the job.
----------------------------------------
Department/organization: Special Operations Task force. (Name may be subject to change)
Duties:
To provide a primary organised and disciplined multi role military force for the Transmigration 9. Primarily utilized to focus on ground borne engagements and missions but also set up for use in special operations such as boarding operations as well as semi-covert operations such as night time raids.
Where duties crossover with other departments:
Task force works directly as part of military command, Engineering for assistance in the maintenance of equipment and vehicles. Cross over with Starfighter command for aerial transport, particularly for space borne endeavours such as boarding actions.
Cross over may be possible as well with magic/mystical in the case of battlefield casters and artillery if required. In addition Medical could assist with combat medics to assist the task force in the field.
Requirements to Join, if any: Able to utilize weapons and work as part of a squad, or be capacity to be trained in such. Training in the use of ground based fighting or transport vehicles and walkers would also be needed for those interested in the armoured support division of the department.
----------------------------------------
Potential organization:
This is a basic idea of the potential organisation of the Task force, note that the Task force will work directly with Command.
Organisational command: Special Operations Commander
Overall field command: Field Marshal
1st Infantry Regiment: Major/Lieutenant
Note: Organised into squads of 2-10 led by an officer of Sergeant rank or higher.
Could include:
Light infantry
Heavy infantry
Power armoured infantry
Assorted specialists to be attached to or assist squads:
-Sniper teams
-Heavy weapon teams
-Combat Engineers
-Scouts/recon specialists
2nd Armoured Regiment: Major/Lieutenant
Note: Fielded in squadrons or attached to Infantry regiment where needed.
Could include:
Scout vehicles
Light/heavy transports
Light/heavy walkers
Light/heavy armoured vehicles
-------------------------------------------------
Who the Task Force needs:
-Officers: People who have experience in combat and are willing to lead and command others in the field. As an officer the character will have rank within Command. Each squad will have a Sergeant and each regiment will be lead by a Major or Lieutenant.
-Soldiers: People who can take orders and can wield a weapon, or who willing to be trained in the use of such weapons. Weapons will be provided for those who do not have their own.
-Specialists: People who are experienced in combat and also capable or willing to be trained in specialist area be it in the use of heavy or sniper weapons or in reconnaisance and stealth duties. Other specialists may be those trained in sapping or repairs in the field or even battlefield casters.
-Drivers/Gunners: Those who can and are willing to drive and/or operate a variety of combat vehicles into combat or are willing to be trained in the use of such vehicles and their associated systems. Vehicles will be provided for those who do not have their own.
If you have any ideas, suggestions or characters that would sign up with the task force, in either regiment or in possible command positions let me know below!

He can play at light infantry, sniper, scout, and anti-armor with his current weapon loadout. Which for light infantry he has his pulse rifle, for scout he has his pulse carbine, and his railrifle is both a sniper and anti-armor weapon.
no subject
It could work well to have him be versatile and change between load outs and specialties depending on the mission.
no subject
I should also mention that he comes with a shield drone which, ironically, supplies Halo type of personal shielding (good against small arms fire) but for the entire squad.

Perhaps a specialist? Or a soldier?

Her expertise in warfare and gun would make her a more than capable soldier, perhaps working as a specialist on missions where her skills would be particularly useful? Perhaps an infiltration specialist in that regard?

Shoutarou might work for this as well - maybe a scout or a driver-gunner. He's got access to, of all things, a tank attachment for his motorcycle, and a motorcycle with guns mounted on it.
Lina could be useful here, too, as a battlefield caster.
no subject
As to Shoutarou, he could work well in both cases. His motorcycle would work well for him being a mobile scout as well as being able to harass larger targets when needed with the weapon attachments.
Lina would be a rather useful battlefield caster indeed, magic artillery would be rather helpful. Though would she likely follow orders?

Veronica brought a laser rifle along, but GIA weapons are probably better than that antique.
Good that he'd be useful, though whether I'll get him involved is kind of wobbly at the moment, as he may wind up teaming up with the Rangers - stuff's still up in the air.
Lina...would be a handful, and I suppose it would matter on who gets her into doing things and who she has to answer to, along with the situation. Crap hits the fan, she's usually good about doing what's needed, or if it's someone she knows well giving the orders, then that might work out. Otherwise, she will try to weasel out of it until a reward is involved.
no subject
GIA Plasma rifles then most likely for Veronica.
That's understandable, if he does end up involved I'm sure he'll be of use. Either way is fine by me!
As to Lina, I suppose that's something we'll have to see as to who she's put with when she joins in. Should be interesting either way!

Soren was the master tactician for the winning side in two major wars on his homeworld, both of which spanned an entire continent in scope. He managed food supplies, weapons, casualty reports, strategies, etc. more or less singlehandedly because Ike only hit things with swords. In addition, he's an archsage and a more than capable healer. A leadership position would be right up his alley.
Zouichi I'm not quite sure where I'd put. He was basically designed to be a one-man battalion, so he comes with:
* An armored vehicle with front-mounted energy cannon
* Heavy weaponry (coil rifle)
* Light(er) arms (gravity gun, power sword)
* Bio-armor
He could be trained for stealth, though his main specialty is storming armies and/or bases, blowing things up, and kicking everyone's face in 8|. That said, if anyone's got experience in ground combat, it's him.
no subject
As to Zouchi, as long as he can prove his capability in a simulation (I'm sure he could) then there's always the possibility that he could be utilized in that fashion. As a highly mobile one man strike unit that could be moved to assist where the fighting is heaviest, or striking through to key objectives or targets where needed.

That said Kerrigan is made for fighting. Literally. But she wouldn't take to just the solider role very well. She is used to being in charge of the action, first as the second in command of a terrorist organization working to overthrow the government and then during her reign as the Queen of Blades when she ordered her zerg to go kill people and was very, very good at it.
She's good with all weapons, especially knives. She has a ton of experience in just about all fields of combat and also in espionage. She has strong psychic powers if we keep fighting the Ohm after the rebellion (thanks to the Daligig tampering with her). She can also read minds with effort.
The only caveat is she is going to be super involved in the rebellion and I'm not entirely sure yet what all the consequences for that will be. She'll also have trouble following orders, which could be played out with her dealing with it or leaving because she can't handle it. Could be interesting either way.
no subject
Hmm, that's understandable as to used to being in charge. Would she do well in a squad leader role perhaps? Her experience in leading could potentially be of use in that role coupled with her combat prowess in multiple fields. The espionage training could definitely come in handy.
I'm too certain exactly when the task force will be set up in game time, whether before or after the rebellion, and her involvement may have some consequences, but I'm sure we can work things out, both on the handling orders side of things and rebellion side. Should be interesting though!

Kerrigan will probably do a mix of well and badly since she'll work them pretty hard. I'm fine if she ends up being kicked off it goes toward badly. If that's too much change I can try harder to make it work.
no subject
That's understandable, working them pretty hard wouldn't necessarily be such a bad thing immediately at least, depends on whose under her command and all what not. We'll see how it goes.

Otherwise does he specialize in any particular areas such as stealth/speed maybe scouting?
no subject
If he could do that, and maybe some close-range stuff as well, sign him up.
no subject
Could see to him getting some close range stuff in as well, if there's a particularly close combat oriented group/squad he could probably go well with them as well.

Erhart here is an Emperor's champion. As for what they do, they basically can provide a mass group buff to the entire force he's with in close combat, as well as being inspiring leaders on the battlefield.
He's made for war, and designed specifically to challenge enemy leaders to a duel and murder them in single combat.
Oh and he's been fighting wars in the name of the God-Emperor of humankind for some 300 years or so, to give some idea of his skill.
Here's a quick wiki link for what they do:
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Emperor%27s_Champion
His wargear is the Black Sword, the armor of faith (This makes him insanely hard to kill in close combat), and a bolt pistol (This is a gun that basically pink-mists anyone in flak armor or less, it takes something like Kais' gear just to survive a single shot)
He's also got superhuman strength, endurance, yadda yadda yadda, he is a Space Marine.
He's an excellent shot, and can be retasked to wield insanely large heavy weapons, but his specialty is close assault, and with the Black sword he is strong enough to cleave walkers 3/4 times his height (He is about 8 feet tall btw)
About the only thing he can't do is stealth. Obv.
Also, he has no psychic ability whatsoever, though he's resistant, like all sphesss mehreens.
with the right name this time >.>
Erhart would definitely work well with the task fore, a Space Marine like him would provide a great deal of extra endurance and firepower to whatever squad has him.
He'd be a great addition to any squad for sure, especially for a dedicated Power armoured squad, given the damage he can deal out both at range and in close. Would likely keep him to his preferred loadout, but if a mission calls for it he would be welcome to drag out the big 'marine' scale heavy weapons.
Would Erhart prefer to me a squad member (Perhaps one particularly specialized in close combat and challenging particularly large targets that my threaten the squad?), or preference toward a squad leader style role?

In canon, she works mostly in three-man teams, but could easily lead a larger group.

We'll see as to how many we end up with all up, but I'm sure Sheppard would make a good officer in one of the positions, whether squad leader or otherwise.
Now that would be amusing, as to the armoured vehicles.

Nanoha is an apt tactician, battlefield commander, and with her magic possesses the firepower of your average Gundam.

Nanoha would be of great use, both for tactical knowledge and magical artillery. Could be possible to have her advise on the tactical capabilities of those with magical talents and the like as part of the force?

Goliath has plenty of leadership experience in the field, but would be reluctant to take command of anyone not part of his immediate family. However he's a perfectly nonmagical tank with high endurance, overnight healing, and can be mobile over very extreme terrain with his climbing and gliding skills. He'd make a good heavy walker, and possibly even a search-and-rescue agent if ever a division of that kind gets formed.
no subject
That's understandable, his skills could be quite useful indeed on the tanking side of things, perhaps heavy infantry side of things.
Search and rescue could be quite useful, we'll see what happens there.
