More Discussion
As per the discussion and the fact that so many want the game to continue, the mods have decided to shake things in the game up a bit.
These are the steps in the proposed plan. If you have any issues with the plan, it is still open for discussion (other than step one) so discuss it in the comments.
1. There will be a post where everyone really sits down and decide if/who they want to play so we know who we're working with. If you're not feeling some of your guys because they lost CR, drop them. If you want to app someone new, app them. App turnaround is pretty fast now. If you're not feeling the game, this might be a good time to move on. If we're not going to shut the game down today, we need to make sure everyone who is here is committed to keeping it going. (That is going to happen in this post).
2. Villainship is going to culminate in some major nastiness for the good ship Stacy. While the crew is being distracted, some saboteurs are going to come on the ship and mess with some very important things so that the crew's avias are in danger. Stacy will repod everyone for the sake of their own safety.
3. Mass podpop. Everyone will be unpodded to find the ship a mess, the war all but lost, and the stakes unbelievably high. Normal plotting will still be allowed as there are several intact worlds left, but overall, the tone is shifting towards the dire and the modplots will be the ones tying into the start of endgame.
4. Setting changes: The city will be traversable for brief periods of time, but inhospitable. Damage to Stacy's shielding means that people's avias will fall out if they sleep there. There will be dangers in the city, traps and nasty creatures left by the villains, making it so people have to go down in pairs at the very least. It won't be 100% instant death, but there will be an edge of danger there that wasn't there before, and much of the city will need repair. All farming efforts and livestock will have to be moved to hydroponics, which is safer. As for everything else, things will need repairs. Medbay will be ransacked, engineering will have things in need of repair, ships in the hangar will need to be fixed thanks to sabotage, and overall, the crew will have to work together to put the ship back together again as they move into endgame mostly unprepared for what's ahead.
5. Organization changes: The people that pop out again will be whoever is left of players that are definitely sticking around. From the start, they'll have to work together more and be more tightknit. There will be open crew meetings with lots of threadhopping where people get to argue about how to handle the problems. The IC command structure will be reformed to be very simple: A captain and commander will lead, there will be very few departments (Medical, Science/Engineering, Magical/Mystical, Security, Special Operations/Starfighter Command [they'll be merged]). These will have no subdivisions and will be loosely organized with the crew all trying to lend a helping hand to each. Basically whoever is available to take charge in a given thing with a department is the person temporarily in charge. (No more formal department heads.) Due to problems with resources, safety, and avia issues, the crew will now sleep in the Sleeping Halls, which will be refitted to be more comfortble, one massive room with lots of beds, some limited space for belongings, and privacy curtains. For the sake of hilarity, there will probably not be enough beds.

For the first part, the sitting down and deciding if you're staying, hit the first subthread. For any discussion on this, input, wanting things taken out, wanting things changed, not liking the idea, hit the second subthread.
This is still open for debate and discussion. Ultimately, the mods are just going to make a judgement call here based on our experience with things and what we think we can pull off on the mod end, but it is still open. There were a large chunk of players in the chat that discussed it and expressed interest in it though, so we're taking that as a tacit vote. The game's small enough now that we can tell how much of the game has chimed in on something. But we do want just about everyone to have a go at discussing it.
We're going to give this like...five days for discussion maybe? We have to keep our momentum with the discussion and all that.

I shed the character I was struggling with most by repodding Doc a bit ago. M'gann and Brenda are both strong muses for me and I intend to see them through to the end. Might app one more character if I find a strong muse and if I do I'll do it with the intention of hanging onto that third through endgame.

It's been a good couple of years and I've enjoyed all the time I've spent with you guys, but this is it for me, even if the game comes back in some way. Feel free to PM Jamie's journal or email me if you want to keep in touch.

It's been a blast while it lasted, guys. I know I was psyched to come here, but I just can't keep up on everything. If you want to remove me from Plurk, I understand, but it's unfair for me to stay when I can't keep up...

May wind up using more of my villains for the actual strike on Stacy than distraction plots now, though - depends on how setup goes, I s'pose.
Re: Discussion
What I and Ian would like to do with youth services is to try and give the under 18s (or under 21s) some parts of a normal life - Ian grew up during WWII, so he knows what it's like to be a child during war time. And also help them to try and get fewer of them killed.
The idea would be to involve anyone who wanted to help, and any child characters who wanted to be involved, or wanted to try and be coerced into being involved. And hopefully give people threads to do.
Ian's not going to give that idea up after the re-podding, but I'm not sure how it'll fit in.
Re: Discussion
My character would try to push for a more rigid military structure throughout the ship, but ooc, I'm really open to anything.
