trans_pilgrims | Calling all spies!

So, Shaela and I have been working on doing spy stuff with Kang and Marco, and we’re wondering if anyone would be interested in joining up a small spy network. Basically, how this would work is that Kang would be at the head of it – essentially directing the spies to where they need to go. He’d be the one to decide who to approach, and talk to them about joining up. (Although if we get enough people, he might appoint someone else as head and give orders to them)

Kang will also be letting Leon know that he’s got the beginnings of a spy network, but he won’t be saying who is in it (Possibly this could lead to some overlap with the Strike Team, depending on what people want to do).

As for what they’d do! It wouldn’t necessarily be spying-on-fellow-crewmembers stuff (and even then, that’d probably be just suspicious individuals and whatnot). A lot of would be like for missions, and gathering intel and that sort of thing.

So yes! Basically we’re interested in finding out if anyone might want to be involved in something like this. (Just keep in mind that potentials will be spied on themselves before being approached. And that we’d need to find ways for Kang - or one of the current spies – to realise that they might be suited for spy work in the first place.)

Jeka was part of the Legion Espionage Squad, and she is very, very good at what she does -- namely, bein' in ur brain, hijackin' ur senses. Also, she's a princess, so she knows how to do all of that polite political double-talk stuff, although it's not her strong point. She's mentioned her background in espionage a few times, so I figure either it's gotten around to Kang or he hears "illusionist" and goes "heck yes!"

And Ax will do it if Marco can convince Prince Jake it's a good idea :P

Oooh, nice! (Perhaps Kang heard through the tavern? Or, does Jeka know any of the other people who are going to be involved? One of them could recommend her.)

So, is illusions her only spy-related ability? /making lists here :P

WELL did you catch some of the recent emails? We were figuring that Marco talked to the others about this, and that they helped him scout out Kang (and decided Marco & Tobias could do it once they saw Kang in the sensoriums with his 'family'). Marco wouldn't have agreed if Jake told him not to, so.

Aside from being on Security and participating in the Magic department (even though her mentalism being strictly biological), Jeka doesn't hang out with many people. She's friends with Sasami and Superboy? And worst comes to worst, Ax can recommend Kang talk to her, since he's also on Security and might know a thing or two.

The illusions/sense-hijacking is her major thing, but she did also receive training from the teenage James Bond known as Invisible Kid. She's also got super-strength, for when it comes down to the "punching crap and getting out" stage.

I did catch the emails, my bad. Ax is fine with spying, but he'd like to remind the Animorphs that even HE can't keep track of time on board the ship, so they need to be careful.

Well, Shaela has said that Kang does hear quite a bit of gossip in the tavern. And Ax recommending her could work too - whichever one you'd prefer to go with, really.

Sense-hacking? (And I'm guessing she can keep herself completely invisible?)

Since when is Marco NOT careful? :P (Btw, since Ax's probably have been brought in at the same time as Tobias - do you want to have him spying on the Lensmen as well?)

That's basically what she does. She's a living, slithering Sensorium, only she can't actually do anything. She can make your brain think and your body feel like you've been gutted, but you're actually just fine. A alternate version of her character once totally cut someone off from all five of their senses for an unknown amount of time, and it seriously eff'd him up. But yes, she can also use her powers to be A) invisible, and B) completely soundless. Cameras will still record her image, but if she knows someone's watching through them (and they're not too far away), she can influence the person not to see her. If someone looks back over the tapes later, they'll see her, but hopefully by then she's long gone ;)

I'll pass on adding it Ax for now, I'm about to get involved in oodles of plotstuff in another game, but thanks for the invite!

(Well technically we're not actually threading out the spying stuff for this one, so it's not very involving at all. But sure, we can say that Ax was too busy doing stuff for Science/Security/Whatever instead XD)
