Rebellion Water Cooler

With the Rebellion coming up (the general opinion so far suggests late April, but we don't yet have a hard deadline) people are wondering what their characters can do to get involved or help overthrow the Daligig. Some characters ICly don't know what's going on yet; others do but have incomplete information; others wouldn't support the effort and yet others would try and coordinate groups. We don't want anyone to feel like they're left out because their characters haven't ICly put the pieces together, so this post is for ideas for CR-building and coordinating that will allow everyone to participate. A new survival guide is also in the works and will be put on the comms ICly, which will summarize some but not all of the information floating around.

If you have ideas for how you want your character to participate in the rebellion, this is the place to post them! If you have no idea and feel a little lost, feel free to ask others if they're interested in doing something with your character regarding this plot. If you have mini-plot ideas for getting information on the Daligig or gaining weaponry, knowledge of Stacy, so on so forth, this might be a good place to find other characters to play those out with.

Would she be interested in the spy group, or on the security team putting down the rebels? There should be more on these groups once we have an idea of the skills each character has, I think.

Skills: research, talking. Often able to defuse situations when people are shouting at one another. Will mother all the children and run over all the Daleks with a truck.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: She knows it's going to happen irregardless of what she thinks, and so has been researching into the Daligig, Stacey etc etc. She hasn't found much other than how cruel they can be.
Ideas to Get Involved: With everything she has found in the Media Library, she could point out a few holes so that as few people as possible are hurt initially. Plus, she has been having discussions with Ankh about it all and is apparently quite good to bounce ideas off.
Anything Else?: I'd like to get involved but my lack of CR might be an issue. Totally my own fault but, you know. Need to build some with other players :/

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Has been watching it carefully when she's been able to, she knows that one wrong step and it could all go badly, however the right step at the right time could bring some measure of success.

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Will take little quarter against those in command that break ranks to join the rebellion. As Trudy, 'Vadum takes the military very seriously. He's seen the results of civil war in the middle of a war and will take little quarter on those who would break against orders.
Ideas to Get Involved: Can assist in leading things against the false rebellion.

Character Name: Hogan Bight/Crucible
Canon: Dragonlance
Role on Ship: Advisor, running for council, big darn dragon.
Skills: Highly skilled in diplomatic fields, skilled in deception if need be, otherwise he is a highly competent combatant both in human form and especially in draconic form.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Has kept tabs on the attitudes and people involved, has been keeping a fairly close eye on it. A direct open rebellion is something that is hasty and ill-destined in his mind. However turning it to their advantage with the false rebellion if they must suits better with him.
Ideas to Get Involved: As one assisting the government he will side with the Council and command and assist against the rebellion.

Skills: Being friendly, getting along with people... and in cat form, he can fight like nobody's business. He is fast and agile and has big sharp pointy claws and teeth that can tear faces off.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He saw Sakura and Barbara's Sensorium projection, so he knows that Daligig = Not Trustworthy. He'd be in favour of rebelling, so long as it was done with care and planning. He'd rather not see this crew share the fate of the first one.
Ideas to Get Involved: Fighting, most likely! If he knows the fake rebellion's fake, he'd be willing to fight for that side or for the side putting it down. If he doesn't know, he'd want to stop them from rebelling so openly and recklessly and probably end up on the putting-it-down side.
Anything Else?: ...I really want to write fighty stuff with him. :3

Skills: Highly powerful caster, mobile fighter, illusionist and charmer. Can blink short distances and is also a very skilled shapeshifter. Is a legendary nine tails.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Absolute zip. She's just along for the ride for as much as she knows and will wonder why they're doing it in the first place.
Ideas to Get Involved: None. She does as she pleases and will no risk any of her freedom for anything. She can be talked to however.
Anything Else?: Nope.

Character Name: Splicer
Canon: Starcraft
Role on Ship: Part of Starfighter Command, Stealth specialist, powerful psionic and shapeshifter. Advanced sniper and enhanced humanoid.
Skills: Head of his black ops team, can change forms, stealth, experienced war hero, really good at computers. Experienced infiltration expert.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: What he does, and doesn't know isn't important. Splicer, sadly, is wired to follow the orders of whoever is in command at the moment. Not the Daligig, but his superior, which means he'll do what he's told by his commanding officer. Which would be the head of Starfighter Command, or the current crew Captain.
Ideas to Get Involved: none... I'm up for whatever.

Character Name: Rin Okumura
Canon: Ao no Exorcist
Role on Ship: resident derp, cook and all around goofy guy. Melee and power fighter.
Skills: Possesses the Blue Flames from Gehenna which he can use freely. Uses the Kurikara demon blade when fighting, has a familiar in the form of a giant demonic cat named Kuro.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Doesn't know anything. He hasn't really been paying attention.
Ideas to Get Involved: Read above.

Character Name: Ronnae
Canon: Warcraft
Role on Ship: Engineer, heavy assault melee fighter
Skills: Skilled engineer, builder and inventor. Incredibly strong and adept at many forms of weapons with specialization in melee combat and heavy armor. heavy regeneration, enhanced physical strengths.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: She's been keeping an eye to see how things are playing out so she doesn't give too much away, but she's all for it.
Ideas to Get Involved: She can act as part of the rebellion or the ones that put it down. Either way, she'll help in anyway she can.

Splicer and Rin could do some good in combat---Ronnie too, of course, if they need someone powerful to make the fight believable.

Role on Ship: Teaches telepathic defense. Member of Intelligence. Not much else.
Skills: Omega-level mutant, powerful telepath, lock picking, blowing shit up
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He knows about it. He's perfectly willing to come down on the side of the rebellion. Anybody who knows him would expect it.
Ideas to Get Involved: Jono's in Intelligence, which is a good in. Also, anything that needs telepaths is something he'd be willing to volunteer for.
Anything Else?: The fact that he doesn't eat or breathe means he can go into situations that would be more difficult for others.

Character Name: Dick Grayson/Nightwing
Canon: DC
Role on Ship: Lt Commander. Tactical officer. Co-head of security. Working with the Bats. Working with the Outsiders. Is there anything else you need him to do?
Skills: One of the best tactical minds in his world. THE greatest acrobat in his world. Detective. Knows multiple forms of hand to hand combat and the use of many melee weapons, though he prefers the escrima sticks. Is one of the nicest, most trusted people in the hero community in his world.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He probably knows about it, but because of his position, will come down with group to put the rebellion down.
Ideas to Get Involved: He's part of the ship's leadership, not to mention head of security. By virtue of his positions, he'll be as involved as I can get him.
Anything Else?: This is one place where his multiversal reputation can help the ship. Dick does what he thinks is right. This is pretty well known, especially after the clone debacle. That he's in the leadership and will be helping to put down the rebellion may help the ship with the Daligig. He could also be useful as a diplomat post-rebellion.

Character Name: Sam Winchester
Canon: Supernatural
Role on Ship: Rogue Squadron. Security. Intelligence.
Skills: A lot. Mostly, he's got a lot of experience with hand to hand and the use of both knives and guns. He's good at weapon improvisation and fights dirty. He's also really, really good at research, so he's a good guy to go to for figuring things out.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Sam's one of those people who could go either way. He thinks it's a good idea, doesn't like the Daligig at all, but he'll probably end up on the side of the people who are putting it down, by virtue of his positions in Rogue Squadron and Security.
Ideas to Get Involved: Wherever security ends up put or wherever Trudy tells him to go.
Anything Else?: He also has some precog abilities (triggered back around Melting Clock).

Character Name: Angie Spica/The Engineer
Canon: Wildstorm (The Authority)
Role on Ship: Co-head of Engineering. Science. Neuropathy
Skills: Because of her nanotech, Angie can basically create anything that she needs from the minerals around her, scraps and her own armor. Weapons, replacement parts. Anything.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: She's all for it, though she knows she may not be able to join in entirely.
Ideas to Get Involved: Angie works in Neuropathy and Engineering, so she's well placed to help try to root out the Warden, or at least seal that particular program away.

Character Name: Dr. Faiza Hussain/Excalibur
Canon: Marvel UK (Captain Britain & MI:13)
Role on Ship: Head of Medical. Doctor.
Skills: Medical doctor. Surgical experience. Her powers allow her to take somebody apart layer by layer and heal them. Also skilled with a broadsword.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Faiza isn't taking sides. Yes, she wants answers as much as anybody else, but her position as a doctor means that she won't take sides.
Ideas to Get Involved: She's the head of medical and a doctor. She's staying neutral, but people who are injured will still end up in the med bay. She'll fight if she has to defend her patients, but otherwise she's staying out of it.

Character Name: Schmuz
Canon: Animorphs (Yeerk OC)
Role on Ship: Science department. Keeping his head down.
Skills: Scientist, researcher. Good at building things.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: In general, Schmuz thinks this might be jumping the gun. He's staying out of it as much as possible, though.
Ideas to Get Involved: Schmuz is going to do what he does best. Keep his head down. Though if anybody goes after him directly, he'll have to at least fight for himself.

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Fuck the police. Although he thinks they need a good solid plan before rushing in, given that Stacy knows and sees all so he's apt to be on the cautious side about it.
Ideas to Get Involved: Generally, I think Kon wouldn't have a major role of any kind. He'd be more likely to just fight/break/lift/etc. whatever he's pointed at.
Anything Else?: Nope.

Character Name: Hiccup
Canon: How to Train Your Dragon
Role on Ship: Blacksmith, dragon-riding guy, former Councilor
Skills: Blacksmithing, dragon-riding, can actually sort of fight okay now, thanks to Zuko, though he's still a wiry little thing
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Damn the man! He feels like they should be free to pursue their own destiny, although he thinks since the Daligig saved them, as gitty as they are, they should try to make the rebellion as bloodless as possible.
Ideas to Get Involved: Hiccup also probably won't take much of a role, but he may be willing to help a little bit with tactics. Otherwise, point him and Toothless at what needs to be fried and he'll fry it, but that's it.
Anything Else?: Nope.

Character Name: Sherlock Holmes
Canon: Sherlock [BBC]
Role on Ship: None yet. I think he might wind up being "that guy that's kind of smart but everyone loathes" pretty early on, though
Skills: Can sort of handle himself in a fight, though it's not his forte. His big asset is his brains, although they're more focused on problem-solving than tactical thingies.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Boring. He'll probably take the time everyone's fighting to poke around the ship and try to figure out its secrets. I'm not sure he'll even pay attention to the rebellion. That might just be Someone Else's Problem.
Ideas to Get Involved: Not sure. If someone wants a thing to do, hit me up.
Anything Else?: Nope.

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He's all for it, as long as it means he can control things in some way. He hasn't been told anything specific yet though.
Ideas to Get Involved: The Master loves being a leader of people, if he can lead them off a cliff. I'd love to work with that sort of thing, making him look like a team player while he's really working on a way to take over everything.

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Hasn't been told anything, but would be right on board. She doesn't trust the Daligig and thinks the chain of command is borken.
Ideas to Get Involved: Aeryn isn't really about being sneaky, so she'd probably have to be more involved in tactical or later stages of the rebellion (aka when they're actually running). But other than that I don't know.
Anything Else?: I'm really tired right now so hit me up if you want her anywhere.

Ideas to Get Involved: He's going to be IDed as a big factor in the false rebellion early on, and get captured and likely tortured by one of the sneakier PCs to prove their "loyalty"

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Rumors mostly at the moment. On the surface he's opposed to it, and presenting a friendly face to the Dalgig. Underneath, secret mutiny and keep it on the QT and NTK.
Ideas to Get Involved: Head of Command, and see above. Yes he's a politician and lawyer so he knows his double speak to persuade people. But he also has military experience.

Character Name: Dean Winchester
Canon: Supernatural
Role on Ship: Co-Head of Security, member of Intelligence
Skills: He's a supernatural hunter, so diverse supernatural knowledge for his world, hand to hand, advanced firearms, good with mechanics and electronics. Very adaptive to situations, used to be a liar for a living, and good at playing roles to get info and intel.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Very much for it, and never really trusted the Dalgig. He'll make some noise about being against it publicly. *cough* Lying liar who lies. *cough*
Ideas to Get Involved: Quietly organizing Security on the side, and checking in.

Anything Else?: I know I'm been semi slow and hiatus and haven't done much threading. Had to reorganize and get these muses a going again. So if anyone could give me a quick rundown on major events I would really appreciate it!

What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: There are some aliens people don't like or something? It may be someone to step on in her robot. That'd be something to do.
Ideas to Get Involved: Maria isn't terribly subtle, she rides a big damn robot that squishes things. That being said, she's new on the ship and DOES understand how to play ball and pull a punch if the crew wants to recruit her as someone that doesn't have reason to go against the Daligig.
Anything Else?: Maria doesn't generally know how to THROW a fight persay, feels wrong, and while she understands feint, probably not a good person to be doing the feinting in a fight.

Role on Ship: Hoping to get him organizing a proper infantry- God knows there's gonna be a need for organized gropos
Skills: Thirty-plus years of armored infantry service, military leadership, energy weapon use, post-nuclear survival, power armor usage, tech reclamation, etc.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He got jerked around by his own government before the world went nuclear and essentially flipped them off with both hands and both feet. He hasn't heard about the rebellion yet, but once he does, he's not gonna think the Daligig don't deserve any better.
Ideas to Get Involved: Anybody want a hand getting the non-piloty types trained and organized in a hurry?
Anything Else?: He'll probably work with Veronica and Christine first before anybody else, if he's given half the chance.

Role on Ship: Cranky Teenage Emperor and vent ninja.
Skills: Stealth, infiltration, firebending, swordsmanship.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: The sooner they pull it off and get on the run, the better.
Ideas to Get Involved: As an uppity complainer who has chafed at the Council in the past, Zuko is up for participating in the staged rebellion and enduring whatever punishment the Daligig end up throwing at the staged rebels.
Anything Else?: It is entirely possible Zuko should pick up an apprentice in stealth and information gathering. I am interested in playing some information-gathering sideplots for our Intelligence and Strike Team

Character Name: Goliath
Canon: Gargoyles
Role on Ship: Security (Night Shift), Castle Wyvern's landlord, and technically Wyvern's librarian.
Skills: Hand-to-hand combat, use of basic weaponry, defensive tactics, research, intimidation, certain kinds of undercover work.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: He resents being used as a tool by the Daligig and is eager to break free and work towards their defeat.
Ideas to Get Involved: Goliath is not above playing Security's dumb muscle in putting down the staged rebellion, but I have thoughts of involving him more directly in Ohm and Daligig-related research as part of an effort to find out just exactly who these people are that they're fighting, without the interference of the Daligig's propaganda.
Anything Else?: Who else would be interested in generating a War Research branch of the working crew? This would involve collaboration between Intelligence as planetside spies, and studious types willing to read through whatever resources are available in the Media Lab and on planetary information hubs for hints about our foes and their potential weaknesses.

Character Name: Sister Nima
Canon: Avatar: the Last Airbender (OC)
Role on Ship: Promiscuous pacifist nun who tends bar at the Drunken Dragon and raises a herd of alien animals for eggs, milk, and wool.
Skills: Airbending, meditation, stress reduction, the use of a staff in combat, the breeding and care of domestic herdbeasts.
What the Character Knows/Thinks About Rebellion: Nima is not comfortable waging war on anyone but agrees that being under the Daligig's control is dangerous and believes the crew needs to flee their control, if not fight back against them.
Ideas to Get Involved: I have no idea how to involve her in the rebellion, but if anyone needs to relax, she'll be happy to oblige. There's always the possibility that she could teach meditation and other stress-relieving practices if I can come up with a way for her to propose it without being dismissed as a granola girl. Alternately, if the ship ever deals with refugees again, being involved in the formation of a committee to be better prepared to care for refugees in the future.

Character Name: Jane Porter
Canon: Disney's Tarzan

Ideas to Get Involved: I'd let to get her in on intelligence gathering and putting her detective skills to good use. She'll also do her best to make everyone else think and behave rationally as things progress.

Skills: He's a Time Lord. He's very old and he's very clever, though his ego often gets him into trouble.
What the Character Knows / Thinks About Rebellion: He's broadly in favour of rebellion, but he wants to make sure it's a success this time. Which it should be, since he's going to be part of it.
Ideas to Get Involved: Intelligence gathering and computer hacking / poking his nose into things, really.
Anything Else?: Eventually, he'll have to realise that this isn't a problem he can solve alone or easily. He's not used to defeat or feeling helpless, so I really want to explore that.
