POD-POPPAGE!!!

Yes, there is a new pod-pop thread Here. So go to EEEET!

Old Players--(i.e. you've done a pod-pop before) Keep in mind that you will be only tagging in once with your new character(s) to establish that they have indeed awoken from podsleep. You won't be getting the all around Stacy-ness effect like your initial pod-pop unless you have made special arrangements with the mods. Just kinda handwave it.

New Players--This is the time for your character to awaken all gooey and gross, covered in slime and wondering where in the pork-chop's name they are!!

Prepare for the goo, the slime, the ZOMG and the general freak-out!

EDIT: After the meet n' greet, we'll likely be starting the first mission since we'll have everyone in the ObsDeck already. So, YAY!, more exciting, happy, fun (for us) times cometh!!

04:40 am - A NOTICE
Just to let folks know, we're doing some major work on the comms over the next week or so. Lots of stuff to hammer down, a new IC and OOC system to introduce, and new features being added to the game.

After this podpop, we're having the crew's first mission, then ICly letting them open up a new area of the ship.

So please keep an eye out on the OOC for the next week and periodically check in. There will be a lot of posts popping up, a separate one for each issue, that we might need feedback on. (Yes, this is essentially a notice to BE on notice, lol).

Okay, first thing to point out. As some of you may notice when you read the new podpop, we now have TWO Brainiac 5's.

We figure it's no time to nail down our rules for AU apps, and they have been added to the app page.

"AUs: We do not accept non-canon AUs unless they're AU as in the case of game transplants above (they have to have been made AU by gameplay, not started as an AU). In regards to canon-based AUs (like different incarnations of a character), generally, we don't accept them, but we will consider them on a case by case basis. The three determining factors on whether or not we'll accept another version of a character already in the game are:

1) Would it be interesting/funny?
2) Is the character different enough to be distinct? (A good example of characters that would be are Comics Nightwing and Toon Titans Robin. Technically, both are Dick Grayson, but they are very different people).
3) THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT. Is the player of the version of the character already in the game down with it? If they are not cool with it, it's an instant NO. We only accept another version of a character if the player already in the game with their version WANTS it."

So basically, it has to be very interesting and/or lulzy, and the character can't really be a carbon copy. For instance, of the two Brainys we have now, one is fleshy and one is a transforming robot, and there's some very distinct personality differences despite the similarities in obnoxiousness. Another good example is the one listed of Nightwing and Toon!Robin.

The important thing to note is that this is not going to become a game where there's tons of alternates. All players have right of veto for alternates of their character, and the general standard is going to be that we say no. Us allowing it is generally for if the player of the version in game REALLY thinks it would be super-keen and there are not huge objections among the mods, or among players that might be affected by the presence of an alternate.

Because if the player of the first version apped in DOES think it'd be fun, we want them to have that option available.

This is generally the conditions we were already operating under unofficially with multiple versions of characters--we've now just made it official.

If you have any major objections, please comment here or email us, because we will take them into consideration.

This is it, folks! The long-heralded unveiling of the Comms Systems. All you need to know is located: HERE, and has been edited into the Game Info.

There are two systems: Comm rings, for voice communication, which you work into your normal RPing, and Omnicoms--text-only journals, which are for bulletins and memos, which have their own comm.

Rather than do an unwieldy friend add system with add and drop lists, we decided just to make a separate comm for it. Far more convenient, lets people track things more easily with tags, makes it all that more optional to use the system (Don't like it? Don't think your characters would use it? Don't join. Easy-peasy).

The comm is: [livejournal.com profile] trans_channel

You are allowed to join now, BUT DO NOT POST UNTIL THE COMMS HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED ICLY. And read the rules for the Omnicom Channel, either in that post I linked or the [livejournal.com profile] trans_channel userinfo.

The Comm-Rings and Omnicoms will be introduced at the next meeting, after the most recent podpop. I will signal that the new Omnicom-Channel is operational via a post by Brainy declaring it as such.

Any questions or comments?
