07:30 pm - Podpop!
PODPOP | MEET N' GREET | NEWBIE HELPERS CONTACT LIST

There are instructions in the tinytext. Post any questions you may have here or ping a newbie helper or mod.

The Podpop and ensuing intro period runs 9/1-9/7, after which we will move onto plot. If you're someone that had a character that was meant to podpop last podpop and missed it, you can pop in now.

NEW PLAYERS: Please note the character tags you create the first time in your podpop post, and us the same ones in the future. If you wanna use different ones, let us know and we'll change them. Make sure you tag all your posts with your character's tag, as we still will use those to help do activity checks.

Welcome to the game, newbies! As for current players, have fun!

07:33 pm - APPS REMINDER
APPS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER

One character per person, but everyone can app, so newbies and older players alike, get crackin'. You'll get another reminder a few days before the end of the month.

08:11 pm - ACTIVITY CHECK
As we said here, we'd like to implement an activity check system, once monthly, that's open the whole first week of the month. (It closes on October 7 11:59 pm EST).

We're going to try this as our first experimental check. (If you miss this, don't freak out, this is just a test run to see if it works for everyone).

HOW IT WORKS

1. Post here with a statement with your user-handle (the one you apped under) like this:

SAPHIE is still here!

2. Newbies are exempt. If you're a new player this month, don't worry about it.

3. Don't bother if you've already announced a hiatus or the like--we'll check the hiatus tag for people who said they wouldn't be around.

4. Whoever doesn't post will get an email after the end of the week, when we've tallied everything up. They will have a week to respond to the email, and if they don't, they'll get another email informing them they've been booted. If they respond, they have to hit up the next activity check (barring a hiatus announcement or the like), or they'll automatically be booted with no email.

5. If you get booted, and it was just a slip of the memory, you lost your internet, some kinda LIFE thing happened, it's okay. Just let us know. Stuff happens, and this is just to weed out the people who've lost interest and wandered off without saying, not to punish people who've had bad luck or busyness or absent-mindedness or whatever. We'll put you back in if something like that has happened, even if it's even an accidental "Crud, I just forgot what week it was!" It's really nothing personal, it's not irreversible, it's just an administration thing. We're not mad at people who idle out, so it's kinda easy to get back in if there were mitigating circumstances.

DOWN TO BUSINESS

Remember, this is an experimental check. We're just trying it out to see how well it works. If it works out okay, if people don't find it too irritating, we'll add it to the rules. If it doesn't work so well/people don't like it, we'll figure something else out. I'll go first:

SSSAPHIE is still alive and smokin'!

If you have a character that might recognize another major canon, like Star Wars or something, please read THIS LINK to review the canon puncture rules so we don't have to eat anyone's face. Nom. When canon puncturing, if you do it without contacting the other player, it is a rulebreak. If the person complains, we'd have to give a player a strike, and we don't want to have to do that.

Thank you.

And now it's time for the second Zoki Is Full Of Fail post in as many days, but this time it's about the plot! Specifically, me trying to figure out this Engineering crew business and making sure I'm not missing something I should do.

Soooo we all know that people are arming up for an attempt to take back the bridge, right? Team GTFO will have guns blazing doing something or other, the left-behinders will have their hands full protecting everyone, and all that fun stuff. I only just realized that Englneering would in all likelihood know of the plan and be preparing for it by developing...something or other.

Questions:

-Are there existing blueprint projects of any importance that flew over my head somehow? (Not that that's very hard. I've been kinda absent-minded about this game lately.)
-Should there be any? Any last developments we should/can handwave in if they're needed? (This is where I'd like input from mods and people who know this plot better than I do.)
-Any potential builders-of-stuff in the batch of newbies want to join up? Tag here if you want and we'll all try to catch up together!
-Finally, when we find the mech bay someday far in the future, can we combine all the mechs into a Unicorn/Frog/Berserker/Origami/Whatever-else-you-have Ultrasupermegazordthing of destruction? :P

11:43 pm - A reminder!
Just a reminder, folks -- time doesn't work the same way on the Meatship as it does IRL. It's been maaaaaaybe six-ish months since the first members of the crew got spat out of the pods. Furthermore, the Podlings can't really tell how much time has passed -- even the ones with internal clocks (Andalites, cyborgs, robots, etc) can't track it properly, due to the universe/dimension/time hopping Stacy's doing. Time on the ship is a lot like the way we can perceive it when we're really having fun or when we're really bored -- it stretches and warps and it's WEIRD. The only reason that those with internal clocks haven't gone completely bonkers is because Stacy is being especially careful to pad their psyches.

Also, please remember to tag your posts.
