04:00 pm - Out of town!
I'm going out of town over the weekend to visit family. I hope at worst that this will mean I'm only a little slow on posts, and I'll be back on Monday sometime. As usual, I'm bringing the laptop with me, so I can check mail.

GG, youze guys with the plotty stuff, PLEASE feel free to send nudges!

See you soon!
Hi, everyone. Remember this plot? So the basic outline is plotted out, but there is still room for a few more people if anyone is interested.

This plot will be called Percival Phoenix vs. the Death Ray, and the setup remains pretty much the same as before. Copypasta:

Stacy detects a strange signal emanating from somewhere in the desert of a backwater planet, a sign of possible advanced alien technology that seems at odds with the planet’s apparent lack of sentient life. She sends a small away team to investigate the signal and, if possible, retrieve the source. Upon their arrival, however, they encounter…

Evil minions in poorly constructed B-movie costumes! Think the gorilla suit robot in Robot Monster. Or those guys from The Attack of The The Eye Creatures – you know, those terrifying creatures wearing nice running shoes and turtlenecks under their rubbery monster bits. Who’s in charge here? Why does everyone on this planet act like refugees from a 1930s sci-fi B-movie?

The intrepid away team fights off this initial resistance, only to mysteriously lose contact with the ship – although they do manage to send a brief, cryptic message back.

A second away team is put together in short order and sent to the planet’s surface. And, as it turns out, their crewmates are alive and well!

…unfortunately, they’ve been brainwashed. In fact, they’re convinced they’re horribly hammy B-movie characters like everyone else on the planet. And the abilities and weapons of the away team can’t help --in fact, they barely work at all! To make matters worse, there’s a scenery-chewing, monologuing caped villain in charge of the whole joint, and it turns out his minions’ weapons work just fine.

Oh yeah, and his super-secret, nefarious beam weapon? Our heroes need to destroy it in order to rescue their crewmates and escape the planet. It’s just that they’ll need to play by this world’s rules to do it.

So far there are two people on the brainwashed team and two people on the rescue team. So yeah, if you're interested, please drop me a line here. Again, I'm planning for this to take about a week, and the last mini-plot I ran was fairly fast-paced, so I'd like to ask that anyone interested in the plot be able make themselves available to tag just so we can move things along reasonably quickly.
