Still working on organizing the plot. We have most of the stuff written up now and are working on even pre-writing the main posts.
There is some stuff to discuss.
NPCing:
For npcing, we're trying out a way of npcing this time that might be easier for everyone than a few people doing it for the whole game.
And that is making everyone npc. The enemies are mindless and Karl has writeups on how each type of Ohm attacks and behaves. Plot-runners will establish new waves of enemies, new types attacking and so on, answer questions, and help when things get stuck, but for this plot, players will be expected to work npcing into their tags or to npc using the npc accounts. Having a small group of people provide npc tags for over a hundred people is pretty much actually physically impossible, and we never get enough volunteers so that means that everyone is automatically volunteered to at least toss a tag in here and there for the threads they're in (or if they're feeling generous, for someone else's thread).
We're hoping this leads to a more narrative experience, where people just use the attacking Ohm and GIA army they're fighting beside as tentpoles for interaction rather than the boring "Ohm Attacks, Character dodges, Ohm attacks again, Character punches" kinda stuff.
PLOT-RUNNING:
For plot-running, these are the parts we still need plot-runners and actual npcers as the npcs would talk:
POST: SHIP SURVIVAL
• Subthread: Engineering - Will have classic 'We're giving it all she's got, captain!" moments keeping the mechanical bits of Stacy RUNNING. Run by: Dragon NPCS: N/A
(We'd need someone good with BSing parts breaking down and problems with the tech here, and would give them full permission to BS stuff up).
COMPLETE NONCOMBATANTS
• Subthread: Noncombatant group B (small group) - Can talk with the leaders of a nearby tribe to try to get them to get their own people under control so they don't harass the refugees with anti-refugee sentiment. Run and npced by: Tetra
Is anyone up for these two parts? We have everything else fairly covered. If no one volunteers rather than taking on more parts than we can handle, we may just cut them altogether. | |
