TransPilgrims (TransMigration9: OOC)
July 8th, 2010
What ho, meatship. I wanted to have Kon start a supermarket food fight in the Sensoriums, and while I work this weekend, I can probably get a post up one of these nights or early in the afternoon sometimes.

So, question 1: Would this be interfering with anything anyone else is running (I'm pretty sure it isn't, but I wanna check).

Question 2: If the answer to question 1 is no, what day/time is the best? Friday or Saturday? And afternoon or late evening? (I'm at work the time in between).

The food fight would just be a free for all thing where people could run around, be silly, and get peanut butter in their hair.
02:58 pm - War games.
HEY EVERBODY. Thrawn's going to challenge the other Captain candidates to simulator naval battles to prove he wins at military forever. Which is the kind of thing that needs to be planned OOC, and probably hand-waved IC, because battle blow-by-blows are boring as hell to read and I don't know about the other players, but I suck at tactics.

So we need to work out who's going to beat whom, etc., and if indeed everyone's going to play IC. Since it's essentially a bunch of exhibition games, I suggest glossing over the exact mechanics except to say it's a round-robin.

Thrawn will absolutely cream anyone without wartime military command experience, but other than that, I don't know about everyone's canon, clearly, so that's why I'm putting this up, where we can work things out. (I do know that if Star Wars were a fighting game [let us never speak of Masters of Teras Kasi again], he'd be the end boss who combobreaks everything ever and blocks unblockables and so on, though. ;) zomg hax)

On an IC basis, I haven't quite decided how he's going about it yet--he'll probably have one of the Rogues get Luke to propose the idea, on the grounds that Luke leaves a sticky-sweet trail of goody-two-shoes wherever he goes, and it'll look impartial coming from him.

Last, I'mma go pick my threads back up in his sensoriums post. Wednesdays are a class night, and that squeezes out all my tasty brain juices so I have none left to play a sneaky super-genius with. ♥
I have a question for the crew at large. I know there's been talk about how it's great that the Rogues give characters who are pilots etc CR/something to do, but that something like that is needed for non-piloting characters. I know people already have several ideas such as re-vamping the science department, however, I'd like to offer another proposal of my own.

Technically, the Rogues require a pretty large ground/hanger crew to keep them in the air- of not just mechanics, but people to fuel the X-Wings, keep track of/take care of the gear, make sure all the fighters are stocked with supplies etc. We've basically been completely ignoring/handwaving this aspect of the squadron. However, it would provide a way for characters with no piloting or mechanical skills/no desire to be in the actual space fights to A. have an official job B. build some CR and C. ICly feel like they're doing something important to contribute to the fight against the Ohm. We wouldn't actually thread out the hanger crew re-fueling the X-wings all the time, that would be boring. So if we actually had an official hanger crew most of their threading would probably be first be a bit of training, but then mostly hanging out in the Rogue's lounge taking breaks during/after work, or helping to get the X-Wings ready to fly if/when another space battle takes place.

So, does this sound like something anyone would be interested in? If not, we can continue to just Rule of Cool/handwave away the fact that technically the squadron should not be able to operate like this. If people would rather have their characters working on something else, that is a-okay, but I just wanted to put this out there as an opportunity for non-pilots/mechanics to be involved in the squadron.

ETA: since this is more of a "let more people get involved" kind of thing, there wasn't a real specific list of tasks I had in mind for the hanger crew to do, more of a "whatever you would have fun threading out" kind of thing. But here are a list of possible duties, just to give you an idea:

Hello again everyone! I've pretty much settled in, so it's time to come off hiatus! ...sort of.

Since an ongoing thread from before he got GLaDOS'd still isn't fully resolved (and would affect how he acts when coming out), I'm going to keep Marco running tests with GLaDOS for now. But, I'll be tagging into the ongoing threads he's still got going. So Marco is...back but not physically back?

Ok, so outside of the initial announcement that elections were a go (where he didn't even bother to announce himself as a candidate), Leon isn't going to bother doing much campaigning. That's mostly for a ton of IC reasons, the largest being: He's busy.

For a good chunk of the game, Leon was as much the Chief of Staff as he was the Chief of Security, and was generally the guy who made sure people knew what needed to be done, that they had what they needed to do it, and they were actually getting it done. I figured that part of his job hasn't changed now that he's Acting Captain. If anything, he probably has a much longer To Do list, and he'd just spend his time making sure things get crossed off of that.

He's probably not going to be Captain in two weeks anyway, but as long as he has the job, he'll do it until its not his anymore.

So... post getting beat up by the Ohm, what on the ship Needs To Be Done (Either in general or specific)? And who wants to help get things done?

THE LIST
Elections (In progress)
Get GLaDOS
Repair the Bridge/City/Other parts of the ship
Restock weapons
Assembling the Major's Strike Team
Dealing with the Yeerk issue
Away Team Reorganization

Hey guys!

I'm closing the survey on Saturday for people with combat experience to fill out. There will be another one either before the pod pop or after for people who missed this one can also fill it out.

What I need is for those who want to possibly want their people involved in doing combaty things to please, please, please fill this out. I know it's IC- there's a reason for this- but for all you all who said 'have lots of experience' I really need y'all to elaborate. It doesn't have to be fancy, but it needs to be informative. Kinda think of this as a resume of sorts.

This particular round will be closed Saturday at 11:59 PM Eastern.

Again, you can go HERE for the survey. If you've already filled it out and need to edit, just add a comment on to your tag.

Thanks!
